Long live the UIT!

Remember, Serco, who controls the resources. And can your warriors win a guerilla war? We have members everywhere; you cannot wipe us out.
Oct 06, 2004 ctishman link
See? Already your squabbling members threaten to tear you apart from the inside! Do you really think that a nation in turmoil can hope to fight warriors such as ours? Go back to your mining and moneylending and leave war to those who are good at it.

Remember who controls the resources. Ha! Neutral, you have made me laugh, and for that I might not behead you immediately. A guerilla war requires that the invading force be oppressive, when we are liberators. In fact, most of your people won't even notice when we invade. We tear down your blasphemous gold banner, we hoist ours in its place. They grunt and go back to work, knowing that we Serco will pay them well for their work and eliminate this paperwork you Neutrals are so fond of.
Oct 06, 2004 Hoax link
I knew this was about paperwork. The Serco can't handle the big words we use on our bills of lading so they will attempt an invasion to save face.

Let them bring war, there will surley be enough profit involved to rebuild our territories tenfold.
Oct 06, 2004 Magus link
Woo. Just try and invade us Serco swine. The nature of our military-industrial complex only guarantees that the more damage you do, the stronger our economy becomes. BWA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
Oct 06, 2004 ctishman link
"attempt". how surely you fling that word around. The only attempt that will be made is a pitiful one at defending your meager territory before our warships and beasts of battle descend from the heavens to crush you like the insignificant insects you truly are.

Yes, there will be a profit. For each Serco dead by Neutral hands, your commanders will do a year of hard labor in our own Xithricite mines. Thus you will gain a taste of the misery your workers must tolerate while you grow rich off their efforts.
Oct 06, 2004 ctishman link
No, Neutral. There you are mistaken. While that law holds true fighting an overseas offensive war, such things do not happen when one's own territory is being invaded. What small boost your pitiful economy reaps will be compensated for by the factories and mines we claim as our own. Inch by inch, your little empire will crumble around you.
Oct 06, 2004 Hoax link
Ha, what does a Serco know of profit? We are ALREADY making huge gains in profit as you ramp up your war machine for battle. Further as the Itani respond to your build up we again profit! Who do you think gains when you fill your ammo tubes? It makes little difference to us where you shoot them, only that you do, and they will need refilling.

As if Serco could run Axia let alone TPG. You will be paying our salaries after the "invasion" just as you do now. Your machine addled minds will never understand the complexity of supply and manufacture. Be thankful your credits are still good in UIT space or you'll soon be paying Corvus prices the simplest pea shooter for your Prom.

OC: hehe this is great fun...
Oct 06, 2004 ctishman link
That would be the case if we bought our arms from you, but as I've said before we have become completely self-sufficient of late, as you no doubt know, but hope I do not. When I fill up my missile tubes, the workers back on Serco Prime benefit. Each guise is given an extra nutrient infusion from its food nipple when we win a battle. Each sentient worker is given a ticket to see the games on occasions of victory.
Oh yes, we do well enough running a tightly-disciplined empire, much better than you ever did running a simple corporation. Internal strife? Piracy? It's a wonder you've held your creaky wagon to the path as long as you have! I laugh heartily in your direction, Neutral coward!

/OC: yeah, reminds me of the 'arguments' I used to get in with the Itani.

"Imagine if you will a monopoly on weapons material production. We would have no reason to go to the other nonaligned worlds.
Imagine Serco war-fleets putting an end to the Corvus threat once and for all, a task that you know the UIT could never accomplish on their own.
Imagine a galaxy united under our benevolent gaze, all factions working to serve the great cause.
Imagine the strength
Imagine the wisdom
Imagine the wealth."

Imagine a skiing vacation in Hell.
Oct 06, 2004 ctishman link
Hey, do what you want. I was offering you a better solution, but if it must end up with you in hell, skiing or not, we'll happily send you there.

HA! What does a propagandized fascist dictatorship know about running a business? Our Union's workers are the most productive in the galaxy. Our manufacturing systems are the most efficient of all the nations. Our entire nation is filled with the independant, courageous men and women who value their freedoms more than anything else and would lay down everything to stop you.
Augmentations or not, your mindless drone army can do nothing to defeat the resolute militiamen of the UIT. What will your vaunted cybernetic augmentations do to stop a Unionist bullet to your head?

Speaking of which, if we are to be a true nation, we need an adjective to describe ourselves. Neutral doesn't cut it, and "Unionist" isn't catchy enough.
Oct 06, 2004 ctishman link
We know enough. We know that if you give the people bread and circuses, they will fall into line and work, because a revolution is too much trouble. We know that there will always be those few who choose to fight. There always are, and we have always dealt with them in the past.

Your concept of the daring militaman holding off a powerful army is quite romantic, I might say. Why not give him a tricorn and flintlock rifle to complete the image? While you sit there gazing dreamily at your windswept saviour, the drums of war beat.

What will our augmentations do to stop a bullet? Nothing. They need not. A bullet pierces flesh, crushes bone, and does not stop the soldier, for it does not touch the microscopic embedded processor. The guise continues to advance until its body is literally torn to shreds. You will run out of bullets long before we run out of infantry, and then our forces will not stop to assault you, they will simply tread you into the ground, oblivious to your screams.

/OOC: Union/Unionist/"Ute" or "Utes" sounds good to me.

The Neutral laborers have been living with the illusion of security. As our power grows, our need to pay for your services diminishes. By conquering the Neutral systems, we will assure that our nation will have the resources that we need at our fingertips, and in doing so, we will become more powerful than ever!

Since when has Serco power been growing?

EDIT: And I think "Independants" and variations on the term, such as "Indies" would be a good name for UIT pilots.

Silence, all of you.

Ctishman, you demean yourself by squabbling with the meaningless babblers of the UIT.

AS for the UIT itself, Competition is the highest ideal in our worlds, do you think that we are totally lacking in the skills needed to run a corporation. Admittedly we would not stoop to your pathetic "meetings", but some of us have been training for years in the policies and methods of controling production. Your way is not the only way to do buisness.

There are many issue to address here. Let me start with what I feel is the most pressing.

Citizen Spuck, it is regretable that you were faced with so dire a situation. It is not the Unions' way to force others to our way. It is regretable that the request that you change your ships designation was met with so much resistance on your part. We simply sought to ensure as smooth a transition as possible for all peoples. This change was more for your security than for "propoganda" purposes.

More specifically, we sought to secure ourselves from the devious and underhanded tactics of Serco infiltrators (which, from the dialog of the past 2 days, you can surely understand). When you refused (which is your right) you became an "armed and unknown" ship. It is regretable that the automated defenses of the Union saw you as a threat and acted as such. I am glad that you were able to survive the event and apologize for your trouble.

Serco Spellcast: It is not your ablitity to compete that is in question, but your values! You value fear and hate over prosperity and profit. You value power and control over judgement and diversity.

You value oppression over freedom.

We of the UIT understand well the many way of doing business, which is why we value the Independance of our member worlds. We simple can not respect your way of "doing business", such as oppression, fear and control through armed threat.

Poor, deluded Sercosian(?). You acheive independence only with our help. It suites us to allow you to feel free from our benevolent generosity. Do not get too comfortable, for we may not always feel this way.

In closing, Citizen Spuck. I truely hope you will consider the Union as positive and unobtrusive change to your great nation. Feel free to take up any greivences you have with your appropiate representitives in the Dau Senate.

Long live the Union!

Drooling Iguana: Indie sounds good to me.

The proper term for a member of our race is Sercan.

For my part, I bear no grand ill will toward the Unionites. It is true that without their willingness to sell xithrite to us, the Itani may have (perish the thought) gained the upper hand on us many years ago. Still, most of the Unionites I have encountered are craven pirates or cowering merchants. There shall, someday, be a time of reckoning for the Union - if not from us, then from elsewhere. It is the way of things - that which is weak is conquered by that which is strong.

Thus, to the Unionites present I say this: you are welcome in Sercan space, if you bring peace and respect with you. Bring conflict, however, and you shall know scant mercy.

Maybe then the UIT should start up a defence guild, to slaughter
the Serco infidels...
