making Wormholes more dangerous

Who needs particles?

No, wormhole does not have to appear on radar. It would be just lik every other hidden wormhole there is. You'd just have to make some kind of mark that once someone found it they could find it again. Maybe a particular floating piece of debri... a flickering sign like it used to be a busy place but now its gone to heck.:)

And perhaps bots that don't attack would be nice... just something large and deadly to pop into your view.. or onto a flickering radar screen, every now and then and spook ya.

Make it that if you don't get trough a wormhole, you end up in the same 'failed-wormhole-sector' as everybody else, but everybody can only warp to the sector they've been warping too/where they came from... all objects that somebody takes to it should record 2 sectors (where they came from, where they are going too), you can't take objects too the wrong wormhole... if you do so, you warp; but the object warps to the other sector...

So if someone pirates someone in there, and takes his cargo away, when he comes out.. all his cargo could be lost :)

lol, that would be cool

Then in some other sector you see a wormhole open, and cargo come out.

Cha ching!

And if you buy something from the void perhaps it will just mirror back into the void unless you use a harder/rarer wormhole?

I think stuff 'from' the void can just get out, but once it's out... it will remember it's location etc.. if you get back in.

hehehe...

References for those who weren't around for Vendetta TEST versions 3.0-3.4...

- The Furies were purple and green ships, currently flown as Axia R-18 Assaults, or the Guide/Dev version, the Stygian Furie.
- Frigate... the Nemesis, Protaris, Zelor, Sola. Etc, etc. NOT the Trident.

To recap for those who are just skipping to the end:

1) If player X jumps through a wormhole, any player under 200m from X will jump with X to the other side.

2) Based on the battery percentage of the other players (not X), they have a chance of landing in a "void" or "subspace" sector. This percentage would be an inverse of the battery charge; ie, 100% charge = 0% void, 42% charge = 58% void.

3) The "void" or "subspace" sector would have big, bad bots in it--probably a levi or a bunch of queens--and would be dark. Very dark. Possibly without the use radar. (I dunno, interference from subspace particles?)

Bumped because it was such a cool thread :D

ion storms are allready a big enough pain in the *** lets leave it at that

This is almost a year old. Wormholes are dangerous enough. Stop necromancing threads.

No I like it! YAY TO NECROMANCY!

Anyway if the Void is really dark it'd be cool if you had lightg on your ship that you can turn on/off, you could have 3 settings 1,3 and 10 e/sec drain, the more drain the more light, so if you were a stalker you'd turn of your lights and engines and wait for someone to appear, then get close to him and then Flash Blind him and start shooting! Which would of course attract the void monster (not a hive bot) who would come and eat you both!

Erm... yay!
