Station Defense Turrets

Can we please get some station defense turrets in Geira Rutilus also there is nothing preventing someone from setting up a blockade on the Deneb side of the Wormhole to prevent new players from participating in Deneb

yay new serco interest in deneb!

-1 to both ideas, however. Preventing a blockade will not prevent people from killing newbs in deneb. And Geira has a HAC -- there are your turrets. Also, the new pcb seekers very dangerous and more effective than guass turrets.

This is not to say Deneb doesn't need a change...just not that kind of change.

nobody asked for smurf input on this matter of course you don't want turrets or any other defense then you wouldn't be able to walk in to SOL like you already can

+1 to the OP

To greenwall:
A HAC that is easily destroyed and spends half its time in SOL II. How about we remove the turrets in deneb and EO.

Your dent had no trouble getting in and out of GR last night. You would have gotten away if i had not power drained you. The guards were not shooting you at all.

+1 We definitely didn't ask for Smurf input

You will respect Suggestions input regardless of a player's known factional alignment.

Debate the point under discussion, and not the individual. Violating this will lose you access to Suggestions. This place is a privilege, and not a right.

JakP, the HAC as NOT easily destroyed. It was destroyed with great difficulty (and fun).

Also, my Trident did have trouble, if you recall. The pcb seekers are a far greater threat to enemy tridents than gauss and missile turrets. I nearly got stuck there when I first jumped in.

and it looks like incarnate agrees with greewall on the mater if that all he got out of it

Turrets on the Geira side make sense at an entrance to a 'hotly' contested system. Though I would like to see any number of other solutions as well- like make all stations conquerable & shorten the Serco commute or at least the perception of it since it is claimed that it takes the Itani just as long to return to a contested sector.

Looked pretty easy to destroy from my point of view. Most of you all phased into the HAC, and let the strike force kill the HAC for you. So again I say, we either get turrets in GR, or you lose them in Deneb.

No, I only commented on the faction-related responses of people. I haven't commented on the OP subject at all. When I do, you will know.

For now, this subject requires considerably more time for players to weigh in. And I expect them to do so in a respectful manner, and be open to feedback from people who play on any nation.

" So again I say, we either get turrets in GR, or you lose them in Deneb." +1 to both

Look on the bright side -- incarnate hasn't agreed with me about much, BigNasty. :D

But honestly, we really should just review all of the existing suggestions for Deneb revamping. We've talked about this so many damn times, I'm pretty sure it's already been solved if we just recompile it.

From a gameplay perspective, there needs to be something in the Deneb sector of Deneb-GR WH (the ONE place to which ALL Serco-aligned players must go) to threaten Itani-aligned players, just as there are defenses at the THREE options for Itani-aligned players to launch and repair/rearm at. And again, from a gameplay perspective, a destructible HAC just isn't as serious a threat as the turrets present at the Itani stations/WH...so that should inform how dangerous and how easy to take down whatever the Serco have at their WH.

However, from a backstory perspective...Deneb may be a warzone, but it's one in which the Itani have the upper hand. So there seems to be a justification for the current gameplay imbalance favoring the Itani.

We've had Incarnate's comments on the matter before. They go along the lines of "the story says that Serco are the aggressors, NO TURRETS 4 U!"

The whole Deneb system falls apart when it isn't a fair contest and fairness should go above the storyline. The main issue isn't even the turrets, it's the lack of a station in Deneb for Serco to home in requiring additional travel each time you explode. Sure turrets would be a start and prevent some of the absurdity that occurs in the absence of any defences from the allegedly greatest military power in the galaxy, but it's a piece in the puzzle.

From a back story perspective then Serco should have large amounts of Teradons and other capships coming in and out of the GR/Deneb WH that always attack and Itan player the com across as Serco have the Largest Military.

Put a Serco station in Deneb and give it a capital ship then call it a day

Lecter: there are only turrets in Deneb o3. The other itani stations don't have them.

TRS: as has been proven time and time again, travel time difference between serco and itani is so inconsequential it doesn't even matter. The problem is that Itani have the perceived ability to blockade Deneb involvement while serco do not. It's more a matter of perception than anything. I'm sure many itani would much rather battle serco in the skirmishes over a blockade, but the serco never take the skirmishes seriously anymore.
