First of all. One dollar a month is really not that much for you guys. There are many players that would play this game for pc but they might not have a paying mathod. Going free to play while keeping the current 10 dollar sub would be a great idea. Also steam guys. It would do the game really good. The player base would go up dramaticly. Most gamers dont have an android in the first place cause they only play on pc. Why would you go for one dollar a month witch is 70 cents and miss a way bigger playerbase?. Adding the game on steam will also skyrocket everything. Think of my suggetion. Its not randome. Ive been a gamer for a couple of years. Thanks for listening.

The thing is that vo right now has a small player base. Witch is not good since vo is a big scale game. Small community games should at least have a f2p on pc. You are losing too many customers. You think eve's online devs are stupid that they turnes free to play?. Eve and many many other games. Iam trying to help the game to grow using logic and please tell me your opinion. 70 cents or 1 dollar isnt worth it for like a bigger player base. And iam sure that many of those f2p guys will turn on subscription. I just want to play the game like i should. I want to accualy be able to see people and interect with many upclose.

If VO goes f2p, how will the devs make money? On the other hand, if VO goes f2p on computer, there could still be f2p lvl caps so people would subscribe

Read what i wrote. Just f2p on pc. They should keep their sub.

They will gain alot more with a higher player base. Obviously most gamers are on pc. And 70 cents wont change anything. Its worth it

Nah.

Also what does obsidian have to do with this? People talking about things they know nothing about!

Explain your nah please. Vo is the first game ive seen with such a small player base and a 70 cents sub for pc. Why do you think many games are f2p but use sub or ingame stores?. I ask to discuss this in depth. It will do only good.

Also why not add it on steam?. Or better greenlight?. If no founds can be found. If you dont risk things you wont see a change. And we want this game to be like it suppose to be.

This game was Greenlighted on Steam. The devs are "still working on it". (forever)

Regardless, this has been brought up many times before. The devs need to eat / pay bills just like every other person that likes food and shelter.

Look, if $1 a month is too much for a PC game, then maybe you should stick to playing on mobile (most PC games, even indie titles cost a lot more than $12, do you normally get a years worth out of them?). I get it, 12 year olds who do not tidy their room do not get an allowance, but then again they also should not really be playing VO without their parents permission in the first place. This game is not for everyone, free or not.
There are already millions of devices out there that do have a f2p tier, yet there still is not millions of players? Maybe this has more to do with VO being a niche game and not for everyone.

And do not give me the "but combat on mobile sucks" argument, I've kicked many a players ass while using my phone and a controller. Most of the time, they do not even believe that I am using mobile. Sure, VO has many problems with retention of new players who just don't get it, but having more f2p users who will log in, get blasted and never come back is not a fix.

Maybe when VO has a lot of other stuff down this could (and should) be revisited, but right now? Nah.

The game is 20 years old and the gaming community has never heard of it. How many players in vo pay 1 dollar a month?. Tell me a number. 40?. Now if the game goes f2p and maybe somehow upload a video or do something for the world to know about it many people including me will pay 10 dollars a month. Which gives a bigger profit. This game is not for everyone but if you dont give the players a chance to play lets say for a week or two to get into it the player base wont grow and the profit either. Also i dont mind about the money. I can pay for it. I mind of the experience whitch is fine. But it could be way better.

What other stuff?. Just asking

Well I myself pay 9.99 a month, evey month for the past 15ish years even if I am not playing. So do a lot of others. For most of us, the $9.99 isn't even a problem, and you are complaining about $1? I also pay for a few lite accounts and maybe a second/third/fourth sub if I am feeling so inclined, as do others.

I do not have figures, but if guild software relied on subs alone I guess they might just be about to keep the lights on. Thankfully they have other deals with other companies and stuff to actually keep themselves fed too. How would taking away that income help?

Most of the "gaming community" just want a game like CS:XX and if it does not get on TV or in a game blog they follow then how would they know? Taking away the devs income is not going to help is it? Because if you take that away, how will they pay for said adverts? The gaming community still do not know because they do not want to know, and the game is not ready for them to know. Hence no Steam release yet.

I get it, you like VO and want it to do well, thats great. But getting the devs to starve to death is not the answer.

You have made many unfounded suppositions. Guild software is very well connected to the other MMO companies and has made informed decisions about their business model based upon discussions with their colleagues. Consider that they might not want to be the same as Eve or the other big companies. That's the "risk" that they take. They're much more careful about risk in business dealings - which is why they're still here.

Steam's Greenlight process ended in June 2017.

VO was already greenlit. Guild pursuing some other opportunities that are supporting and funding development. They will launch on Steam when they feel they are positioned to make the best use of the platform.

Eve has a massive player base, so they can afford to do things that a smaller company cannot.

Even better, maybe VO could be pay once just like elite dangerous

I didnt say to take away the 10 dollar sub. Please read all my commnents carefully before replying. I agree with you about the game not competely finished. You know better about that cause iam new. But its been already two decades right?. Iam not complaining about the 1 dollar. As i mentioned i will get a 10 sub my self. Youre not reading everything.

I am reading and comprehending everything. I am not agreeing with you on all points, which may have led to your confusion.
