It's might be useful for traderf when multiplayer misions came into game. you type /givecargo "blah", and small panel appear when you can choose which cargo FROM your store in CURRENT station tyou can transfer to HIS store st the same station

On the other hand you can make a whole trade panel, divided into three sections:
1. where you see what you have in your store in current base +money
2. where you see what you WILL recive in transaction
3. where you put items to give to other player (and money as well)

The transaction is completed when both palyers agree to configuration by clicking some trade button...

It would eliminate nasty givemoney function, and cargo thieves (especially around noobs) Besides you can transfer huge amount of cargo at one time by just clicking :)

And some example of how should it work. Let say that i want some iteni electronics in s9 to have a little less to run for it to other sectors, so i suggest some noobs that i give them 200k (10k now rest after) if they manage to bring 200 itani electornics to s9. They do that (for a big money) while i trade sth else...
They bring all cargo i bought it from them and everybody are happy :)

Trust me when I say if there was anything wrong with that idea, it would have been pointed out. Silence = agreement

How would you explain something like this though? It doesn't seem like the Vendetta universe has teleportation technology yet. How could cargo just magically appear from one ship into another?

I think he means from one player's station to another. As in, if you own 5 widgets in s1 you can give them to a player, where you no longer own those 5 widgets but they now have 5 widgets in s1.

If not, plastics make it possible.

Oh yeah, that makes sense. Well then, if there's no magical teleportation involved I think it would be a nice feature. Some type of notification to let you know that "you've got new cargo" would also be nifty.

this isnt a bad idea, but just as long as the cargo can not be given from sector to sector, it would have to be like giving money... same sector only, none of the intersector crap. no offense

I think it's a good idea.

and if you want to have to go to a diff' station you hire a bot and send him off!
May 05, 2004 Ciuciu link
Arolte: don't worry, no magic or alien hi tech teleporatation is involved :)

This would transfer cargo ONLY from your storaga in current sector to other player storage in that same station. It't excludes: cargo in your or his ship, ANYTHING in any other sectors.

And now the question...should we also be able to exchange ships and ship components? I suggest that we should not be able to do that, as it would give certain n00bs more of an advantage. If my roommate decides to start playing, I could give him some excellent ships before he had really earned them.

On the other hand, allowing it would give us a chance to do black market type things.
May 05, 2004 spectre_c_me link
i did read it spellcast, i was just making the point that if this was implemented any other way then it would just be wrong.

i think the player should earn what they have, as that in these missions earning the ships is sometimes difficult it is often a hard task to complete if the person you are given ships from is a person who no longer supplies you with such needs.

Well... you SHOULD be able to sell a battery to other player :)

I thought you should be able to do this, but since other player (who don't have a perrmission to use that battery) should take some punishment for using it. So.. i think that every time he docks with a ship equipped with sth that he cannot use (on in any "normal" way get) he should taka a standing loss with organisation who charge in the area (no matter what that org is). The loss will depend on diffrence between his current lvl and lvl needed for that equipment (and will sum for all "black market" equipment he uses)

so?
May 06, 2004 sapo_sk link
Hmm, well I think with any sector without a functioning black market, I think the illegal items should be just confiscated in case he tries to modify/repair his ship in any way...

The last thing we need now is AOL in Vendetta.

Why use a bot for such a transport?

it could be one of the trade missions inside the station. that makes the players a customer for the station...it would be a nice way of making the economy grow better as in the player pays for telling the station to make the shipment, but also gets payed from another player once the shipment has been made...
or he is payed before the cargo transport...
