A few small suggestions

After playing for a week or two, I have a light smattering of suggestions:

-Allow us to set a 'default sector' to warp to, if you don't have any sector currently selected. This way, you don't have to set your target sector every time you warp in to the sector you're botting in. A right-click on the sector map could serve this purpose. This setting could either be saved for each system in the universe, or could be cleared whenever you go through a wormhole. This would save you from dying when you're at 3%, running from a particularly nasty bot, and only realize you've forgotten to set a target sector after you get out at 3km, and make botting that much less laborious.

-Make jettisoned cargo drop behind your path of flight, instead of your line of sight. So you can drop cargo while flying backwards without immediately picking it up again.

-It'd be nice if you could carry upgrades (weapons and batteries and such) in your cargo hold. For example, you have a ship parked in a different station, but that station doesn't sell the weapon you want to use on that ship, but the station you're currently at does. It'd be nice if you could load the newly-purchased weapon in to your cargo hold, rather than having to fly over and get the other ship, then fly back and buy the weapon.

-More types of upgrades would be nice. Nothing overpowering, but maybe a universal "override socket" or something, that you could plug items in to, like: "Advance Nav Computer" (can jump sectors from 2km, instead of 3)..."Auxillary Battery" (extra 50-75 units of energy, and maybe a small charge rate increase), "Deflector Screens" (reduces impact damage, and maybe damage from ship explosions)...stuff like that. Maybe some ships could have more than one of these upgrade slots, but fewer weapon slots or something. Maybe you could even get a very expensive adapter that would let you plug one small weapon in to one of these slots, maybe with a higher energy consumption rate or something. Might not be very useful for combat, but it'd be cool for miners and such. Maybe some of these upgrades would reduce your recharge rate somewhat or something, but could be toggled on and off at will.

-I know we have customizable playlists, but a built-in CD player would be cool, so you don't have to rip your CDs to play them in Vendetta. Plus it'd be nice to be able to just switch CDs whenever you feel like it. Of course, you can mute the in-game music, and run a CD player in the background, but then you have to switch back and forth between VO and the CD player to control it (change tracks and such).

-A light tractor beam? No, not for seizing enemy vessels! Maybe you could tow a little bit of extra cargo around with you.

-Some type of consumable, one-shot powerups would be neat. Like an impenetrable shield that only lasts for a few seconds, or a 15-second cloak that renders you invisible, but firing weapons breaks the effect (but still seen on radar). Or some type of speed booster (like a NOS hit in some riced-out Honda, but in space). I have lots of ideas for these classes of powerups.

-A turreting system, where you can become a tail-gunner on someone else's ship would be neat. So someone can jump in your rag with you, and control the two large weapons independantly of the ship's orientation, or something like that. Or is this the idea behind player-controlled capital ships?

That's all for now. More to come, I'm sure...

Apologies for my ignorance.

No need to. There are over 100 pages of threads to read in the suggestion board alone.
