Well, for DS4 and DS5, business will be booming (har, har). I would encourage anyone who doesn't care much for pirates to name a char DSx (x being a number.

I am DS4 and 5. FM is, or at least was, DS3. You will not attack anyone unprovoked, except pirates. You will help n00bs and give them cash. You will defend against pirates and vigilently hunt them down (the pirates, not the n00bs). ;-)

Here's a suggestion from a nonpirate for addition to the rules-- give players the option of jettisoning their cargo, in exchange for their lives/ships. Make sense? If someone dumps, don't pursue.

I have a complaint,
According to one of the rules, A SYN member should never re-attack the person they just pirated cargo from.
Well, I got "pirated" by an SYN member,[SYN] Bluebeard, in sector 7.
I came back to sector 7 1-2 minutes later and i get killed by the same user. (I did not even have cargo)
Shouldn't there be some kind of punishment for [SYN] Bluebeard?

Hazaanko, when you were trying to pirate me last night I didn't realize who you were so I was annoyed. But I had to laugh when Ku Genin was chasing you all over creation in his fully loaded up with expensive cargo Centurion. Don't forget, just because your noble pirates doesn't mean that some people won't be able to resist trying to murder you on sight. We can't help that. Its human nature. Since 3.2 came out I have had an awful time trying to trade... but it will get better. Others are in the same situation. Stay with the brotherhood of pirates and keep the code but don't complain too loud if a group of people spaz out on you.

And beware the police force (of which I know Ku Genin was talking about one time) ;)

wich police force captain ??

I haven't heard anything about a police force,

are it bots ?

heh... I am trading lots, and have struck a deal with several of the most dangerous pirates... It works like this:

I pay them 100.000 creds and I go safe from them forever.

Pretty neat, huh?

I hope I will be able to do the same thing with you guys in the near future.

Have a nice day.

Better keep it.... they're harmless... the most dangerous person i've seen is TradeShip1, who is so only because he lags so much...... jumps all over the screen and is impossible to hit....
Apr 23, 2003 Nemesis link
so they are not a threat to a fully armed pizza cutter?

Furball - I guess I forgot to make something clear: The Syndicate is meant to be ALL colors. Not just blue. Because its so small right now we only have like two or three people and all of us happen to be blue. We really really really need other colors. Like we said, we don't have ANY affiliates with any government. If the game would allow us to, we would pirate blues as well: this is why we need plenty of people of all different colors. I'm thinking about transferring my pirate character to another color just to demonstrate this.

- Yeah Capt. Rambone - I remember that. And I also realize what you're saying. I don't expect to be liked. In fact I think it would be much much better if people generally didn't like us. But the only way this whole thing will work out is if "The Syndicate" is a force to be reckoned with. As it is right now... its kind-of a joke. But hopefully in the near future we will get more support.

- In my opinion - this game just needs more of a challenge... something else for people to accomplish. Right now... you can fly all the way through each and every sector... including other teams' sectors, without any resistance at all. There's just too little 'fear' in travelling into supposedly dangerous sectors. The bots offer some challenge, yes. But If you're just casually flying through a sector - they offer no resistance whatsoever.

- I think the good things in life are those hard-earned. The player needs some sense that he overcame the odds in order to get where he's at. I'm not suggesting at all that people should treat The Guild kindly. Yes, you could even call me a coward as I'm running away from the two or three 'Pirate Killers.' Its not like you're going to hurt my feelings. I'll do whatever is best to make more money (or in the sense of running away - keeping what money I have).

- I think people vastly misunderstand what I'm trying to do here. I'm not trying at all to ruin anybody's fun. This is all I suggest: just make a seperate character... you don't have to be affiliated with anyone at all. Just try being a part of the guild - if we get lots of people, it'd be great! The Syndicate would be a feared and respected group of people that there would be some great battles against. One of the main points of this is to get people to cooperate with eachother. Not only the pirates, but the governments as well. Recently, certain blue characters have made a sort of 'convoy' in which they travel in a small/medium group of ships so that they can better defend themselves agains pirating. I think thats freakin' awesome - seriously. Thats exactly the kind of thing I want to see happen more often. A single trader shouldn't be able to easily fly all the way across the universe by himself and still live to tell the tale. Its this ho-hum type play that makes the game boring.

- Seriously people, who _hasn't_ been bored from trading? Its the same thing OVER and OVER and OVER again. Fighting against this guild will give people SOMETHING TO DO. I'll say it again - I'm not trying to take away anybody's fun. Quite the opposite in fact.

Hazaanko, personally, I'd suggest that you hold off on this for a little bit. There's still a LOT of bad blood cause of the fiasco with the blues in 3.2.0. And while personally, I wouldn't hold it against you, some people might... give it another week or so and THEN bring this thing out.
Apr 23, 2003 furball link
Hazannko, my point isn't that you are or are not blue... I forgot that you were... just that emotions in the community are somewhat on a fever pitch. :( And I'm AFRAID that what you're trying to do WHILE IT WILL MAKE THE GAME MORE INTERESTING will just end up hurting the community RIGHT NOW. IE RIGHT NOW, there are a number of players who are blue hunters. Players that I would personally have never thought they would do that. But because of the actions of a few blue players at the release...I can't stress enough that there's a LOT of bad blood out there...

All I ask is that you not ADD to the bad blood right now. Wait a few days/a week or so for this to run out... IE for the MOST part, my personal thirst for revenge is gone. (Note: there are some blue players I WILL hunt down and hope to see em perenially bankrupt. I KNOW that there are also a number of other people who feel the same way I do. ;) They know who they are and no, you're not one of em.)

I feel the same way. Too much nastiness right now. We all need to chill out, remember it's a game, and that we are supposed to be testing it.
