Id like a tractor beam function, suck that cargo right in if its withing 15m.

Sucks doesn't it?

Now only if cargo acted like ships.
(as in when they get hit they move)

How would you pick it up?

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Maybe you have to pilot them into a box?

I have noticed that when you get blown up by and roid or a station, if you have cargo it floats in the walls and you can't get to it ....

Quite anoying tbh ... :(

oooo. Spiffy
May 11, 2003 Chaos link
That would be good, because it is most anoying when it gets stuck in a roiad, or in the walls of the stations.

Also the amount of cargo in the rookie sectors, 4, 6, 12..i think there should be a time limit that the cargo stays there for like 15mins.. because the amounts of cargo that are flaoting around just jam the radar, what do you think?

I think there is a limit. Perhaps the limit on cargo that drops when a ship is destroyed could be one minute, and it only stays 15 minutes if actively jettisoned.

Not exactly a good solution (the adding real physics one).. Once you exploid on an object, the cargo spawns within the object (asteroid, station, or "Ice, yo!"). Even with real physics, it would still stay in there, being spawned in there in the first place. They need to code something to detect if the cargo is inside an object or something.

I feel that in the final game there is going to be literly -sp-thousands of cargo, if not over a hundred thousand, floating about. Perhaps it would be best to keep cargo code simple and low cpu intensive for the server. Good ideas with the pyshics, Id rather have less lag though :)

whoa... radar jamming missiles! that would be cool. Durning a Flag cap. just fire one and the enemies radar (and your own.) Goes pysco for about 30 seconds. that would be awesome. but yeah. the cargo in roid blows.

What's really annoying, as Phoenix can tell you, is to have the FLAG stuck in a roid...

hehehe, that funny!

Heh. I'm pretty sure there's some code somewhere to fix this, but it isn't used by the bots at the moment. I'll fix it, uhh, "soon."

Hey man, don't worry about when its fixed, so much that your trying. Just letting us play this game is a privledge to us (since its free at the moment) and the fact we test it free for you I guess is the little we can give back (even though its not really alot ^_^ and were probably getting more out of it than you are). In any case, I just wanted to say keep up the good work, and it is appreciated by many of us. :)

Well said :)

the devs can add a pay service (with game cash!!!), worked out form the stations to get a cargo box.
meaning that the cargo is putted in a non-piloted ship, and goes to the closest station.
if there is'nt one there, then it goes away from any player around untill the buyer gets there.
the auto-pilot must have a way to recognize the buyer so they can make the cargo registerd at the moment of buy or pick up from open space (like from bot kill) on the nick name of that man.
but the devs must make the pilot of the cargo with not a 2 high AI system so it would not be imposble to catch it :).
this service can be a daily, or for every shipment payment.
those who can aford it almost sertainly use it, and it makes the problem of cargo losses lower and can be used as a protction from pirates (lol Icaruse).

BUT: this servise cant be to expensive because if it is then players will be losing money isted of earning money.
it can be ajusted to 50% of the cargo's price that the player want's to put in it.
a nother idia is that the non-piloted ship will be purcahsed at a price of a marauder/prom/vulk at the black market.
this ship will stay with u untill it is destroid, and then it will be usefull and in use.

personaly i think the time 2 time pay method is a better service for it, but it must be connected to the player's money amount so he will be wanting 2 use it, so maybe it is to heavy one the server.

this the devs will have to deside, but i think that those options can make the life of pirates (not bounty hunters!) much harder. :P

Cool, like a AI Guard :)

How about a tractor beam that sucks that cargo right in if its withing 1500 - 2000 m, would be good for missions with a lots of cans lying around.

btw, how about "criminal flagging" someone who swoops in and steals "your" cargo cans ? That would make you able to destroy the players ship and if in a guild/corporation, the thief would also be criminally glagged, Make the flagging last for say 1 month, and you would have plenty of time to get even for that theft.

AND, it wouldn't matter if you were UIT, Serco or Itani. Kill ahead, more PvP this way I think.

Why are you bumping a thread listed in the "Please Read..." thread in Suggestions? I don't think it will increase the chances of the ideas/suggestions being implemented.
