Has anyone put together a 'diff' of this and the old ones so we can easily see what's changed?
Oct 31, 2011 Pizzasgood link
I have a set of files with the data I extracted from that site that guy (breazle?) set up a while back, formatted as csv. So, here is a literal diff. Note that I have not verified any of the information in here, so sizes and locations and stuff could be totally bogus.

heh, that wall of text means nothing to me, Rin.

Anyway, I figured I might as well do a comparison myself, and this is what I came up with for before/after numbers:

Volume of all goods for final mission: 33,517 / 18,190 cu
Volume of mfg goods for final mission: 14,416 / 9,176 cu

Total cumulative volume of all goods: 514,639 / 430,598 cu
Total cumulative volume of raw goods: 341,375 / 284,334 cu
Total cumulative volume of mfg goods: 173,264 / 146,264 cu
Total cumulative volume of ore: 57,139 / 45,208 cu

Total cost of goods: 51,769,152 / 43,576,252 cr (excludes hive drops, ore & mfg parts)

So a huge reduction in effort required for the final assembly mission but only a slight reduction overall.

EDIT: There were some numbers I forgot to update (had the mfg goods quantities listed in 2 locations). With the fixed numbers the reduction is significant after all. Sorry about that

So a huge reduction in effort required for the final assembly mission but only a slight reduction overall.

I would expect a non-trivial dropoff in time to manufacture. The things that were cut were also some of the most time consuming to generate.. multi-level craftable content that involves transiting back and forth between locations at low shipping efficiency. I'm not sure that your numbers reflect that kind of difference.

My numbers were off because it was still using some of the old values for some calculations. Fixed in post above. Oops.

As far as estimating the time required, it would help to indicate that the volume of synthetic silksteel was reduced from 96,128 cu to 81,328 cu

If you take the number of XC loads required and multiply by [the number of wormholes traveled +1] for each load, that number is reduced from 5,925 to 5,027.6 with the reduced requirements. Note this is only a ballpark number. For simplicity, all loads of a given commodity are assumed to come from one station (e.g. all silksteel from Azek, all hive drops from Odia). It also assumes all 200 cu of the XC is used each trip. It does not include any ore either, so that would need to be factored in as well (both mining and hauling).

Next time use 'diff -u' :(

Uh, that would have made it uglier. It would have included a bunch of the crap that didn't change. Seeing the context is great when it comes to changes in code, but kind of pointless for changes in a simple alphabetical list. Though I do prefer the +/- designators rather than the >/< ones.
