Faction Response and general development.

Hi guys. I'm glad that the overall response has been (seemingly) positive about the game evolution. But it seems that I need to point a couple of things out:

The Game Is Still Not Finished

We have factions, but no real enforcement for protected areas (near station). This is still coming. Faction enforcement can take a variety of forms depending on what works for us. Right now we're implementing a system of Guarded, Monitored and Unmonitored sectors. Guarded sectors will react immediately and violently to *anyone* (of any faction) who breaks the peace.. essentially by firing weapons. Monitored sectors will take note of faction impact based on any PKing that happens there, and Kill On Sight people arriving there will trigger the launch of interceptors from the nearest station. Unmonitored sectors are presently a "no mans land".. anything goes, it's at your own risk. That may also change.. we'll see. PKing and PvP *is* a significant part of the game, and we do NOT want to eradicate it. But we do want to give people some sort of a "safe-ish" place to take refuge. Especially for those who don't have such a combat-driven playstyle.

Everything, from the ship definitions, to the weapons, to the very structure and design of the sectors.. is still in flux. 3.5.0 represents the game to a point where we can begin testing things on a truly large scale.. something that was a little problematic in the old universe. So, by all means, make any suggestions of anything you feel could be improved (especially if it could be improved simply).. that's what the Suggestions board is all about (and YES, I still read it). Do not assume that anything is necessarily The Way It Is, if you don't like it.. make a constructive suggestion describing why and (preferably) proposing an alternative.

Some of the current situation is limited by our development time. Complex solutions to problems take a long time to implement, and time is not something we have a lot *of*. So, as always, we may not act upon everyone's suggestions, but people who have been here for awhile can vouch that we *have* directly acted upon suggestions in the past, and we still want to hear them.

Thanks again, I hope people are enjoying the game. We're getting there.

Yah, what fuzzy said!

In any occasion, the big thread that you guys might want to checkout is the "New Universe Suggestions" or something, but it has alot of good topics and ideas that should be addressed.

what levels are the new weapons and what are their stats?

timmy: you should make a new thread for this, if there isn't already one.
since many players aren't at high enough level to view all the weapons (and some sectors have their own personal weapons/ships) it probably is a good idea to start this in conjunction with a new universe database. (/me pokes players who have the know-how to make good maps : D )
Forum Mod: me and timmy are getting OT. move us to a new thread, a new forum, somewhere. hehe

No can do. I can't move individual posts. I suppose I could cut and paste, but it would be easier if you did it yourself.
