Im still downing the 52 mb media.rlb file.

I was amazed with the sheer size of the download considering I was used to downloads of 3 mb :D. Checked the bugforum and noticed somebody posting 3.5.8... and I am downloading 3.5.9 or higher or something...

/me waits untill the download stops to test :D

So wait, does that mean that everything's changed, or just that they've finalized the artistic assets?

*Storm glowyness now, but doesn't go away when you leave the storm sector. So once you've been in one, everything is glowy until you reload the game.

*New chain missions like the terrorist mission, which will instantly make any Sercos -601 with Serco

*New multi-system nav system, which really should have some kind of notification when you enter a sector with a wormhole ie: "Proceed to the wormhole to continue on plotted course"

*Centurion can now be wingbugged

*DEFbots only launch if needed, otherwise very few of them launch

*New loading screen for main game and new dialog boxes in some places

*Items available after next level update are showed in gray/grey.

*Lots more players ingame.

the media update should have been only 8 megs but a version of the updater was buggy and caused it to redownload the entire file. The bug is fixed but it doesn't matter to the ones who had to dl the entire file after the fact.

Waylon messed up some of the textures so they are resizing based on your Texture Resolution mode. That's why they are blurry.

Hey leave it that way, it's now totally fast in software mode :) j/k :P

HOLY SH**

I fired my weapons three times trying out a weapon grouping, and my Itani standing went from +960 to -600!!!!!

That was bad.

[edit] The bots couldn't kill me though. Their shots did no damage, as if they were a player.[/edit]
[EDIT2]I just got a mission to kill terrorist bots around the same station where firing got my standing lowered to -601... this might be a problem.[/edit2]

I don't know if this is new or not, but I just noticed it. You can now plot a course in multiple universes. Select the path in your current system, then switch to the next system and plot it from the entry wormhole in that system, etc. Storms also revert you back to your previous course when you exit it, so you don't have to set it again. So once you plot a course all you gotta do is hit activate anytime you want to jump. Pretty sweet. a1k0n also said that plotted courses are remembered when you log off.
Sep 03, 2004 RelayeR link
But, there is a problem with that. What if you want to plot multiple course changes in the same System? No can do. :(
Sep 03, 2004 Phaserlight link
RelayeR: you just gotta go jump-by-jump if you want to do that :). Yeah, it would be nice to be able to add your own legs, but the current system is workable.

I also just have to say the grayed-out equipment is a *nice* addition! It may seem trivial to you higher-level vets but I guarantee that it will provide a lot more motivation to work toward higher levels when you are a newb. Finally we can see what we are working towards when levelling!

although adding reputation to the mix would have been nice to.

It would help you to choose the factions you wanted to max first
