From a newbie ...

Hey all,

I checked out Vendetta some year or so ago and thought it looked cool, but found it nearly impossible to get into. Today I received the 'log in or we'll delete you' email and figured, since I've been avidly watching the Vendetta website, I better have a look.

And I just have to say WOW! Massive improvements all over - very impressive game all round, and it's not complete! Strikes me that so much attention to detail has gone in to this that I felt I should just say that - wow.

If it goes the way it looks like it will I think, time away from pregnant wife allowing, I'll be on this one a lot - reminds me a little of my favourite game of all time, Elite - but with the added bonus of being a MMORPG.

Keep it up folks, and thanks for being so open with the Beta stuff - rare I get a chance to have a go before release. A bigger thanks yet for simultaneously doing a Mac/PC and Linux version - maximum kudos there! I'm on a Mac and it depresses me how few companies are forward looking enough to cover that platform - so like I say, way to go!

:-)

And, kudos to you, thing for your uplifting message to the devs. There have been a few recent posts from first-time users that were, shall we say, on the negative side. I was baffled how a person with obviously less than a few hours of play could slam the game to the extent they did.

I, for one, am glad you decided to check the place out again. Knowing what has happened in the last year to get to this point shows massive love and commitment on the Devs part and that is worth much more than a few small problems that were mentioned.

Thanks much indeed :). We're working hard to make the game as cool as possible.

Ah RelayeR you're so right - it's very sad when someone sees the bad in a thing before the good. I think I had the advantage of seeing this game in a very early incarnation and, being able to compare that to what I found yesterday, how could I be anything other than impressed! And that is with just a few hours play.

To be honest I've played so called 'finished' games that are less polished. Hell, I used to be a subscriber to a MMORPG that, in my opinion, is so full of bugs it should still be at testing stage, not live - but then the company that made it clearly don't give a stuff about their users.

So I eagerly await the release version of this. Ultimately I realise companies make products like this to make money, but this one, as you say, clearly shows that beyond the desire to create a viable financial product they do care too. Superb.

For what it's worth the biggest improvement for me is the tutorial, without it a year or so back I was lost! How you guys managed to keep playing and improving your game characters I don't know - guess you had more patience than I and I'm glad you did since I believe your (the gamers) efforts should be praised along side the Dev team's. It's all of you that have helped to get this to where it is and I'm sorry I didn't stick with it to try to help as well. But I'm here now and will always offer praise where praise is due - and I'll do that in preference to complaining.

Again - good luck, superb job!
