How does PvP work?

with the games flight model and rather, odd way of ship choices how exactly does PvP work...being that you cant really fire and boost at the same time and ships can jump instantly around a sector? i mean if someone doesnt want to die...i dont see how you can stop them from getting away. are missles really friggen fast and accurate that running off in a straight line with boost pretty much a sure kill or what?

oh, and uh, whats with the lack of ship equipment? there seems to be a large number of craft with different over all stats, but only a battery and its guns seem to be the heart of any ship...seems to be a big bummer to me with out any advance equipment, mods or other things to stylize ship performance to your liking.

There used to be more variation than there is now: mainly, there were different level engines with different thrust levels, but incarnate says there were some problems with it. They're working on it (supposedly).

Not all ships are the same. T/M ratio is huge in the ability to dodge fire. I havnt sat down and crunched the numbers on the ship yet, but hornet doesnt dodge fire as well as a vult. The rag is a just that a dishrag that has been used to wiped the floor.

Tach's MkII and the heavy batt on all ships is pretty much the choice.

Merlak, there will be more choices as you level-up, and there are other choices at different stations. There can be still more choices if other nations like you.

yes, i am starting to get into more ships and so on.

however, while my stats or licences seems to allow me to pilot ships my actual alliance standing is what lets me see possible ships and equipment, correct?

I still wish there was more gear to short of customize your ship a bit better, guns and battery's just leaves ships kinda static. i'm not saying this is a bad thing because you can own a few ships it apears (limit?) and they all seem to handle a little different as far as manuverability, speed, armor, and weapons.

there doesnt happen to be a list or anything out, that should specail ship or equipment location is there? much as i like exploring in genral, i hate wandering around a needle in a high stack looking for items.
