hehehe, glad I could oblige.

I didn't realize that it was an elected juggernaut. I thought that whoever defeteaed them earned the title and had to defend it for the remainder of the event... that's why I signed on for it - I was disappointed that I only got to kill you, moldy =P

In any event, I'd happily be the next one...

EDIT:

Hey, I have an idea for a slightly modified version of this event that I think would work well...

if, say, in the first fight, the winner becomes the juggernaut, and is paid 5000 credits. After that, people challenge the juggernaut, and the amount of the prize doubles for each match that the juggernaut goes undefeated (so the juggernaut may win 5000 for the first match, 10000 for the second, 20000 for the third, etc... but say if the juggernaut gets defeated at 640000, then the 640000 is paid to the player who beat them, and the count starts over at 5000 with them as the new juggernaut.

You could hold the event for as long as the sponsor didn't run out of money.

Or out of players interested.

No, the time limit would still apply, to prevent a Juggernaut from getting his hands cramped and eventually lose. The increasing prize has merit, though the way you put it, let's see...

5k 10k 20k 40k 80k 160k 320k 640k... To earn 1 million (what we're paying at the moment) the Juggernaut would have to win 7 duels. I don't think neither Niki nor Shape fought that much, so we could be underpaying the Juggernaut. Also, 750k will convince
someone to attack Niki; 80k and the high chance Niki will return for some payback? Not as appealing. Maybe get some worth-while base prize (say, half a mill for the challengers and 750k for the Juggernaut) and then the 5, 10, 20K are indeed added to the pot as the Juggernaut wins duels.

Then there's also the fact of not paying the Juggernaut until he wins; I know of one person (okay, more like ten) who'd accept to get the cash, and then allow themselves to die once they think they've earned enough cash, which for some could be from the very first combat. Part of what makes the Juggernaut hang on (apart from his confidence to take on all comers) is that prize at the end of the tunnel after he proves he PWNS.

Sounds like fun, good to see another VO event .

Well Jex, in the case of niki, you may be right that we'd need a lager starting pot, but for the most part...

7 duels isn't that difficult if you've chosen a good juggernaut. Hell, I've done in excess of 20 without losing on occasion, and then I typically started losing when I got irritated with missile spam or ganked. (once you fall out of the groove, it's harder to get back in)

I still don't think the time limit will apply - it's unlikely that a juggernaut will fight for much more than 2 hours of straight matches before they're defeated, and they can always choose to retire the position... the fact that the money DOUBLES with every win though should keep people from dropping out intentionally - it's always worth a shot at doubling it, and if they do let themselves be killed early, it's not a big deal - it's not a lot of money unless they've fought it for a long time anyway.

PS. Niki doesn't need a reason to kick your ass, so the payback point is moot.
