I'm still rather distraught, (and ANGRY! RARRR!) over today's occurences. For all who I haven't yet ranted to, here's what happened:

So I logged on today as Redlac ready for some fights in B8, (no one comes to B8 anymore, everyone's up in Giera) and no one's there. So I sit around for 10 minutes, chatting with my guild and everyone, just being bored. Then someone starts up a BP group.

I log into Calder and am instantly in Giera. I start doing BP 100 left rararar killkillkill. KILILNG SPREE, 80 left yadayadayada BOOOOOOM!!!! HEADSHOT!!!! (3 with one dual flare shot). 60 left...40 left... 20 left.. done. Yey, yadayadayada.

We all go back to the station, heal take a new mission yeahyeahyeah. Then, someone notices momerath AFK in B12 on our way back to C10...

Anyway, as I was saying, Regan Recaps, (aka Spaceranger) says HEY LOOK A DEV! So I'm all like Hmm, I wonder if we could get a NiCad... And he's all like cool, let's kill him. OH wait, I'm serco. And I'm all like, I'm rogue Itani, rararar yeahyeahyeah. So then I'm like yeah, if there's a NiCad, it's mine. Everyone CLEAR on that? So everyone's like yeahyeahyeah, there won't be, it doesn't matter. It's a 1/5 chance.

So thinking that it's a better than 0/5 chance, I begin shooting momerath,(I say begin because it's a long process to take down an uberbuss with an AGT) and I keep shooting, and keep shooting, and keep shooting and finally I get his carcass down to about 20%. Then the Itani Teradons start shooting at me, I start dodging while still shooting momerath.

Waddayaknow, one kills me. I must have gotten too close. Anyway, I pop and I'm thinking oh well, I'll come back and finish him off. Then, all of a sudden I hear BEEP. So I'm thinking hmm, stray shot hit him.

Now, I kid you not. ONE AGT shot out of a 5 minute string. that ONE last AGT shot popped him. Just as I'm staring at my new Combat +100 thing disbelievingly, I hear Regan Recap say OMG HE DROPPED IT!

Then he pops to a nearby teradon. So here we are in Giera O4 with a NiCad battery sitting ripe for the taking on the other side of the WH. We start flying back, and the whole way there I'm saying, REMEMBER, IT"S MINE!

And then Regan starts acting like a greedy bastard and being like NO, IT'S MINE! And I'm thinking NO! NO! After all this!

So we get to the other side of the WH and start frantically searching through the BS rubble of about 200 crates, and he finds it first and makes a beline back to O4 as fast as he can. I chase after him yelling MY PRECIOUS!

When I see he's going to reach the station before me, I start yelling DON'T TAKE IT OUT OF YOUR CARGO HOLD! over and over and over and over and over again. So he's sitting inside the station for about 5 minutes with MY hard-earned NiCad battery and I'm thinking Oh shit oh shit oh shit. Then I hear one single, simple "oops" in sector chat.

Oh SSSHHHIIITTT!!!!!!!!!

Regan had UNLOADED the one and only NiCad battery ever found by Player kind. So here he has it sitting permenantly in his station hold. I'm thinking ok, we'll just wait until the devs let you re-load weapons and bats into cargo, and then everything will be alright.

While I'm sitting outside the station thinking this, Regan leaves the station. I ask, do you have the battery? He's like OMG THIS THING REALLY DOES HAVE 1000 cap and 1000 charge and he's shooting his AGT a ton and stuff. Then the whole thing goes into slow mmmoootttiiiooonnn, (to me at least).

He stops shooting, and stays perfectly still. A couple of seconds later, he's like "I'm really sorry, I'll give it back to you" And I'm like oh thanks... wait... how are you going to... RRREEEGGGAAANNN!!!!!!!!

OH SSSHHHIIITTT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I turboed at him knowing if I bumped him it would abort the self-distruct sequence... alas, I was too late. The one NiCad battery ever to be found by player-kind was lost in a fire explosion approximately 15 minutes later by the king of retard-kind.

So for any and all, that's the NiCad battery incident. Spaceranger or Regan Recaps, you owe me a debt to the tune of 1 (ONE) NiCad battery or re-imbursement of 100 million dollars payable within a years time at which point interest will accumulate at 100% per year. Until the time of delivery, I will hate and therefore make it my sole purpose in VO to anihiliate you.

Well if the devs dont want us to find these things they should run around with these things. or make themselves way more invulnerable than that.

Personally, if I had found one, I'd try using it to blow a cappy by myself.

I'm trying to compute the "spark" that would be given off if we rubbed the two of them together... and for the life of me, I can't handle *that* many zeros behind the decimal point.

Just desserts for two failed members of the species. Maybe now the Serco will reconsider and start producing their pilots with brains again.

Perhaps it all worked out for the best in the end .
After all , where's the personal satisfaction in acheiving your goals by using what is essentially a development tool?

dave, you have to remember this battery doesn't give you immunity.

Heck, it might turn into an interesting event. Chase the one with the NiCad. Eventually he'll have to die and whoever picks up the battery ends up being the rabbit of the story.

Oh, and I once downed a cappy by myself using missiles but that's both boring, expensive and not worthwhile (got almost no XP).

Yeah, I was thinking about that last night, (throught the fumes coming out of my ears). What GOOD could come of this? Well, an event like this would be cool, I'll post later. But the idea would be like mouser said where you kill the person with the NiCad. The devs would have to do 3 things for an event like this to occur
1) Give someone a NiCad battery.
2) Program it not to time out and to drop every time the person with it was killed.
3) Program it somehow to act like CTC cargo and NOT be able to enter a station with it and have it leave your ship as a widget when you log out.

My guess is that while 1 and 2 would be easy, making a single widget fulfill 3 would NOT be easy to do, especially considering that it's a battery. What happens when it leaves the sip? Do you get a free bat in its place?

hahaha, I'm with yoda here... had you been caught with it, momerath would have in all probability pushed that big, red 'SMITE' button and the NiCad would have been gone.

Ah well, I guess this will serve as a lesson to Calder for meddling in the affairs of the devs, and also to momerath, for going AFK without first turning invulnerability on.

I'd say it's a lesson to Spaceranger too, but anyone dumb enough to /explode carrying that battery is probably incapable of learning anything.
