SKV declares war on TGFT

People that drive a valk should not question why people that can not get a valk would want to get a SVG.

Expect +600 serco standing uit to be common.

(serco standing + itani standing == 0) == neutral.

"In regards to the Itani vs Serco war, I am neutral regardless of what that game stat says. I don't see how some number changing or not changing unrelated to war activities would change my participation in the war."

Any activity that you take which impacts your standing is, in fact, a war activity. Even something as simple as delivering cargo to the Serco or killing their hive bots frees up Serco citizens to go fight in the war and kill Itani pilots. Anything at all you do to help the Serco gives them advantage over the Itani, and vice versa. Small amounts of that can obviously be overlooked, especially if you are in fact neutral about it and help both sides basically the same amount. However, if you have significantly more standing with one side or the other, that means you have offered significantly more help to that side, because the number does not just flip around willy-nilly.

Unless, of course, you start killing people. If you go into Itani space and take the law into your own hands, then of course they will quickly become angry with you.

EDIT: Roda, has +600 Serco already become common? Because the upgraded mutual exclusion has been a thing for quite a while now. There is no "it will become common"; either it already is common, or else it turned out that nobody gives a shit.

I do not run around checking peoples serco and itani standing, so I have no idea.

But on returning to the game and finding that I can no longer buy valks, the first thing I did was get +600 serco standing and start buying SVG.

The only clear sign of a hostile uit is itani + serco standing less than 0, and even that does't tell you which one (or both) they are hostile against.

That I killed serco hive bots and not itani hive bots does not have any impact on the game other than the numbers next to my faction standings.

The factions are too stupid to use anything more complicated than faction standing, and some players are just about that stupid too.

Why would you do that? UDV is garbage, but even UDV has better stats than SVG in everything but thrust. SVG has only +20 more thrust than UDV, which is rather insignificant considering the popular loads. There's no reason to get SVGs especially with megaposis around.
Apr 15, 2015 Roda Slane link
Do not let paper math fool you. I have tried both the SVG and the UDV, and the SVG is better at staying on target at close range. The UDV has too much rotational momentum, and constantly under/over spins.

But more to the point, UIT do not have to pick between the UDV and the SVG. They can have both. UIT have to pick between the SVG and the IBG, and given that the Rev-C is nearly identical to the IBG, the SVG is the obvious choice.

The UDV has too much rotational momentum

Umm lol you're the first person EVER to complain about THAT. It doesn't have as much rotational thrust as some other ships, like rev C. How do you manage to fly those other ships?

@joylessjoker maybe he doesn't like the profile of the udv. Either way, how many fly them? The UDV is not the UIT border ship to fight pirates in x1's or any other ship with rockets.

Oh the dejavu factor in this thread is through the roof, except for the fact that people are actually interested in getting awesome serco ships for once; that's refreshingly awesome!

But honestly, it's sad how badly TGFT has lost the propaganda war when it comes to them claiming neutrality by virtue of their tag. Utter bullshit and now everyone sees this.

What I'm laughing at here most of all is how awkwardly members of Itan must feel at the moment; shifting uncomfortably in their seats torn between the Itani elite to whom they owe their fealty and TGFT whom they historically have been desperately dependent on.

One thing is for sure. I'm not going to be making any attempts to resurrect the dormant dragon of the Red Eternal Dominion; why would I when I can join SKV and fight TGFT at the same time as making Itan feel awkward. Eventually they're going to have to choose a side too - how is CrazySpence going to justify fighting SKV on behalf of his trader buddies, or worse; how's he going to justify staying out of a conflict as part of a military guild? Its a mockery of everything Itan has tried to stand for all this time!

Thanks Obama

1) I agree with Surbius -- thanks a lot Obama

2) Propaganda in VO is futile. Only newbs fall victim and they quit after 2-6 days anyway.

4) SKV is a loose cannon guild that hides behind nationalism. A wolf in sheeps clothing. They do the song and dance of nationalism, but when they are feeling frisky they shoot whoever they want for any reason because they know there are no repercussions other than hurt feelings. For a long time it was only Niki who did this, but now others are doing it as well. This "shoot first, maybe ask later, maybe not" policy is exactly what RED did, and has at its roots the primary cause of complete boredom with VO. So it's no wonder that TRS fantasizes about joining SKV. It's the same reason we'd use the game genie on our nintendo systems back in the 90s: breaking the rules of the game for short term lulz. Of course the inevitable result is faster deterioration of interest. In any event, unless SKV makes a serious effort to turn this around, they will earn the very difficult-to-erase mark of "griefer".

Wally, we all know you are a real TGFT supporter with a TGFT alt char that is actively engaged in fighting SKV in this war, as is your Serco alt Avataros so I would take your statements with a grain of salt.

Anyway, SKV is pleased to announce that the first TGFT Trident owned by Sieger met his doom today and went to meet his maker. RIP Siegers dent. Still 20 to go....
Apr 18, 2015 greenwall link
Greenwall and Bluewall the characters have always supported TGFT against pirates and griefers, like he does with any non-aggressive guild.

Any characters I might possess in other guilds act according to the role-play they are committed to. I'm not sure why this might come as a surprise to you, BojanSplash. I'm also not sure why you are so offended at my factual statement about SKV that you are moved to take this to a personal level and throw out accusations about my supposed alts. Seems pretty low and desperate.

Game genie didn't result in a faster deterioration of interest for me. In fact I spent hours upon hours writing down random codes as a kid and entering them to see what minor changes i would make. And then sharing the results with my friends.

Because you are making some very partial and unsubstantiated claims about SKV Wally.

SKV is Itani military guild with its own rules of engagement that are public knowledge.

We do not attack traders who are not hated or KOS with Itani nation (unless they are members of the guild we are at war with).

If that makes us griefers, then you really should check your dictionary again.

Sedina b-8 is the pvp capital of VO and some collateral damage is bound to happen there from time to time. Every player in VO knows this and collateral damage there is not uncommon.

I consider Greenwall a friendly Itani but his mines killed me in b-8 while I was fighting Serco players a few weeks ago, should I call Greenwall a griefer too or accept this as a collateral damage?

Actions to the contrary have been observed on multiple occasions and, recently, in increased frequency. These observations do not include collateral damage in B8 PVP.

I'd like to add that my Trident was not destroyed by SKV. I wasn't even online in the past 12 hours, iirc. therefore my Trident couldn't even have been in space.
Apr 18, 2015 VikingRanger link
It is interesting to note that SKV seems more interested in attacking traders now then ONE. I have observed at least one occasion where an SKV member chased a TGFT member for quite a distance through multiple wormholes rather than attack a ONE member in B-8.
Apr 18, 2015 bojansplash link
@Sieger

I have impartial witness who will confirm we destroyed your dent in Sedina. Sadly it happened so fast that I was unable to make a screenshot. Will try to do it next time.

Haha Bojan I just checked. You are right and it says my Trident was attacked at a time where I have been offline. It was 5 or 6 hours after I logged too. So why the heck was it in space? Musta been a bug

P.S.: I appeared in my Trident anyhow when I logged in. So no damage was done. Phew! :P
