walking in stations (no flame)

Mar 22, 2005 ArAsH link
hey, i know... there is allready a lot written on this topic, and i know there are more important things to do (in the) first (comming years ;), thats why i put it here in off-topic.

I was just wondering, how do you envision this? 1st person or 3rd person, and if 3rd person, do you like to see it in 3D (WoW, Splintercell-style) or more in the isometric kinda genre (The Sims, Diablo)? Just curious to hear what you think.

Although walking in stations is not something I'd much care to see in this game, if I _have_ to envision it, I see it as isometric, Habbo Hotel style (simple, functional).

I see it as an invisible "feature" that doesn't do anything.

I would rather not see it at all. It would just be an annoying layer over the user-interface. The only way that I could see it being worthwhile would be if it was integrated into some type of station-capture scenario, where there would be in-station combat. In that case, I'd like a 3rd person isometric view, somewhat like Diablo, but more old-school, something like X-Com UFO Defence would be cool.

But, for just switching between the buy, sell, ship, cargo, etc interfaces, I much prefer the way it is now over making me have to walk between a Store, and a Pawn shop, and a Docking Bay/garage, and the station hold, etc.

Would it be a no-fire-zone?

depends on wich ally you creep in, sun tzu :)

anyway, i was just curious how other people would like this, I for one was allso thinking about the isometric type of view, but then in fancy 3D. Anyway, was just dreaming a bit, you know. Would make fun bar situations tho, Mos Eisley (spelling??) style.

let's make it look like the original Zelda games for NES. That would be awesome.
