^^^^^ anyone getting that too?

I have the same problem with stations. Never bothered me much but the tracks look really bad and I'm pretty sure they didn't look like that during the alpha. Only distant objects are affected. Playing with the Lod settings didn't help.

IIRC other games/programs show similar things so it could be a hardware/driver problem. Just want to make sure.

Since the last time the race tracks were ingame I've "only" changed motherboard and cpu and a few software updates in this PC.

Linux 2.6.11
Xorg cvs
GForce 2MX (latest drivers)

You're probably in 16bit mode. That looks like 16bit zbuffer artifacts. Try switching to 32bit mode.

Ah yeah, I am. thx.
My card doesn't handle the 32 bit mode well. Atleast not at the resolution I play at.
Maybe there have been some improvements in the driver in the last, uh, year. -.- At the time it was pretty jerky.

Odd ... that I never noticed this before. I only tried the 32 bit mode once. *scratches head*

Not the best example, but this old shot doesn't seem to have these artifacts. Stations look much worse at this distance now.

okay ... really bad example. I've lost my good shots from the time <.<

EDIT: they got better :) ... fps hovers around 40
EDIT2: but my mouse is lagging in the station menu -.-

I dunno. nvidia tends to break and change things in their drivers all the time. Maybe earlier versions always used 32bit zuffers. I dunno.
