Broke after military missions

Jan 03, 2011 noahbennet link
Hi, I recently joined the Serco military after reaching combat level 3. The instructions said that the military would replace my ship if I lost it during a mission. Being new, I lost 3 or 4 ships in the skirmishes. But, the military never bought back my ship and I quickly went from 30,000 credits to 700 credits not enough to buy a new ship or repair my current one.
How do I get the military to replace my destroyed ships?
It's a little frustrating as I would like to do more combat, but now I have to raise the game money to be able to do so..
Thanks for any help

Well, reloads and repairs are free on skirmish capital ships. You can start a small skirmish then immediately dock with the Trident and repair for free there.

Supposedly it only pays for your ship if you use the "buy back last ship" dialog box that pops up, but from what I've seen it doesn't pay for anything. The full purchase price still shows up when you do the buy-back.

Can someone who knows for sure explain exactly how you're supposed to get reimbursed?

You don't... I don't think this has ever worked. :(

This thread seems to suggest that at least the ship buyback works:

It sure isn't working for me. Bug?

This never works for me. That's why Extravagant Egg always has to get some more monies every week or so (even though my little Eggie only does Border Skirmishes).

You have to be homed at a station that offers the Border Skirmish mission that you were on. You have to be part of the mission, killed in the mission sector, and use the buy-back dialog. It's worked when I've tested it; if it doesn't work for you, please verify that all the conditions are right, and then post with the time, which sector you died in, and which you were homed in.

I almost always turn a profit from skirmishes, but i die less. :P
Anyways here's a few screenshots from a Small Skirmish today in Deneb D-7. I was homed in Deneb O-3.

Here's the trident i just knocked the shield down on launching swarms at me:

Here's ARF_02 getting blown up:

Here's the buyback on the ship. Note the full cost of a Ragnarok MkIII with 3 Gemimi launchers, 2 Stingray launchers, and a FastCharge Powercell appears in the chat log:

I disabled all of my plugins for this one just to make sure it wasn't some plugin interfering with it.

In my quest to make my Transaction Ledger as accurate as possible, I have recently been trying to figure out what is going on with the buyback discounts. As evidence to support the fact that ship discounts are working, I present the following screenshots.

Before Buyback

After Buyback

You can see in the before image that I have cleared my ledger history and purchased a rag3 with bombing loadout. Total cost is 83,806cr with 1,538,357cr remaining after the purchase. In the after image, you can see that the game lists the entire buyback price, however, my credits after buyback are only 1,514,551cr.

1,538,357 - 1,514,551 = 23,806cr

Similarly, you can compare my actual credits with the credits reported by my plugin and you will find a difference of 60,000cr.

Yeah, it applies the credit for the ship but doesn't show it in the chat or anything. I think CrazySpence pointed that out to me after I made that post.

yup you pay for your addons still but the ship doesnt get billed to you

This needs to be reflected in the GUI

Also it'd be nice if the addons werent billed too cause they are still enough to make dieing in a fighter skirm negate the point of playing in one.
