Stasis Pod? What now?

I took a Recon/Spy mission detailed as "Hostage situation". It involved tracking down a group of pirates that had taking a VIP as a hostage. Then I had to scan to figure out which ship had the hostage, and damage it to 25%-50%. I did this, the pirate ran away and jettisoned the pod... so I picked it up... and... I guess the question is: what do I do with it?
What's interesting is, I received the credits (skill+) when the hostage was jettisoned. It doesn't seem like the mission is completed there, perhaps it should require you to pick up the pod and return it to the station. While the pod was in my cargo, the icon for it appeared as a white box. I'm guessing that means there is no image for it.
Lastly, the word "stasis" is spelled wrong in the description of the cargo.

Could I see a screenshot of what the stasis pod looks like?
last I saw it was a white box, nothing in the picture
I mean the actually "thing" he picked up. Or did it just look like a cargo piece.

Another thing, is when I saw the stasis pod, targetted it, and pressed 'k' to show its Info screen, it showed its mass as being -1 kg.
