Death by splash and bounty-hunting

I noticed the first part of this bug (or whatever you want to call it) after I killed someone in a heavy ship. I was very low on health when I killed them, I was close enough to take damage from their death explosion. This killed me, giving them credit for killing me. I don't think this is right. It's a suicide or issue, and should be recorded as such.

This caused a funny sequence of events yesterday: I was fighting someone in Sedina B-8 and damaged them enough for them to try and run. We both jumped to the station in Sedina L-2, and I was able to get a few shots off right before the docked, killing them. I died in their splash and was informed:

Solution killed XXX
somefaction placed a 600000 bounty on your head
XXX killed Solution
XXX was a bounty hunter, you lost some skill.

So because I killed them, not only does the other player get credit for the kill, but they got 600k for their troubles too!

Probably not the highest priority to fix, but a pain in the arse all the same as it adds a bountyhunter death to my charinfo, and a bounty claimed to theirs.

Well, methinks you deserved it.

Apparently you haven't learned to keep your distance when engaging your adversary (especially when low on health) or about No Fire Zones around stations. All ships have a blast radius when they destruct. A fact that has been known since Alpha (Vendetta Engine Test) simon. Learn to stay outside that radius (and when to disengage). This isn't Alpha anymore. It is frowned upon to fire on fellow pilots in close proximity to stations. If you're going to ram someone in a No Fire Zone, then you must live with the consequences of your actions grasshopper.

I think it's funny.
As for bounty hunter deaths in charinfo... I [personally] would rather have a bounty hunter death than a bounty.

Spider: I would appreciate it if you kept any personal gripes you have with me killing you out of this thread. I guess you assumed I was talking about you since my opponent was running. It was not.

Paedric: I've been playing since Alpha too, so I know its been going on for a long time, I'm just pointing out a strange side effect of the way MY death is interpreted.

I know shooting at someone near a station is bad, but that doesn't mean you can't do it. Its still a valid tactic, especially when you are trying to kill a notorious runner (note: not Spider, could be, but isn't)

Ha. Ha.

No, I just think that in general, you do deserve the fallout and its a very amusing situation when a bounty-hunter gets bounty-hunted for killing people. Which is what I mean with "you deserve it"
