Location and Time displays.

Jun 08, 2005 TRS link
The current system and sector are plainly visible in the hud, but not in navigation or station. Newbies often don't know their location, and even I have to look at both the system and galactic maps to figure it out sometimes.

There is no display of time.

what would a clock help you with? unless your on a timed mission, and then you get a counter next to your tabs. Time is relative…

Would you want the clock to be GMT, your own time zone, or Vendetta time (which would probably be thinly diguised GMT) ?

Vendetta time (which would be thinly disguised UTC).

GMT would be fine, but any time is better than none. I'm open.
And an option to turn on time stamping in chat?

And System-Sector displays for stations and navigation menus.

Vendetta Time would be whatever time it is now, plus 2428 years. Assuming, of course, that you were using Old Earth Reckoning (OER).

yea, and that would be different for the Serco, who centered their calendar on 4203AD with the launch of their first colony ships. So 4203 became year 1 Post Diaspora, and the present time is 230PD.

I still don't understand why you need a clock in-game

Can you not look at your computers clock or look down at your wrist, microwave, cable box, or any number of other household items that tell time?

ok, the little "/time" thingy could be handy, and even close to chat time stamping.

Where do I get a list of all these commands?

The other issue I consider more pressing. It just seams to me that system/sector should display on just about every menu in the game. In fact, when looking at a system map, shouldn't it be labeled as to which system I'm looking at? And note, I could be looking at a map of a system other than my current location, so it would still be helpfull to have a location display in addition to labeling the system maps.
