CTC Mission...

I dont know if this has been proposed before but here goes anyways....
With the development of new missions in progress how about letting the players take a bigger hand in the Cargo Wars.
Why not let players sign up to fly the transports or defence ships. Some kind of announcement over 201 / 202 like the cap ships.
No choosing aditional weapons, ships or departure time BUT you can choose your own route..... Just a thought

[moved to suggestions]...?

I'd also like players to be able to take an active part in convoy missions via the new system. I also think it would be great if players could form group convoys on their own and take group trade missions which would then trigger group pirating missions...

This could also tie in with the crafting system... e.g. a certain guild needs a certain amount of xirite ore for their new construction project each week so they set up a recurring procurement mission at their station which any group of players could take... the reward for the mission would be transferred directly from the guild's treasury to the group that completed the mission successfully...

might need a few additional requirements:-

1) Cargo pilots must be 900+ with own nation
2) Maybe need to be combat 6 or higher (?)

just to prevent opposing nation hijacking the transport....

then again that could be fun too.....

The mission creator could designate the requirements for taking the mission...

Perhaps he wants it to be available to only pilots of good Itani faction

Perhaps he only wants the mission to be available to members of his own guild.

Perhaps he only trusts pilots with combat 5 or higher...

YES! Agreed. Let's roll!

It'd be like Solra's samoflange runs.

There needs to be a serious point to CtC. That's one reason why I eventually lost interest in the CtC, is that there's no point in it. I don't use N3s, so the reward had no meaning. And triumphing over the Itani week after week, it made it feel like a job, and not a game that I could have fun with.

Perhaps instead of sending convoys at such high frequency, they were sent in 4 or 5 waves (spaced out through a single day means that everybody in the world should technically have a convoy wave run at least once while they're playing - and then shifting the convoy times ±1 hour for the next run) every two or three days. Each wave would be significantly larger than currently (maybe 4 transports at the beginning of the week, 8 and up by the end). I feel that this would make players' game time less tied to CtC, and lets them do other things to keep the game fun. It also makes each CtC convoy run individually more important, hopefully stirring more interest. And then expansion of CtC prizes. Instead of a single special weapon (the N3), there could be a small set of weapons, consisting of an advanced small energy gun (Neutron Mk 3, or an advanced rail), and advanced small rocket (powerful with only a few shots?), an advanced large energy gun (say, a plasma devastator with higher shot velocity), and an advanced large missile (a faster stingray?), so that more playing styles would benefit from CtC victories (and thus drumming more wide-spread interest), and then limiting the quanties of such weapons that any player can own. Say, 10 of each, to prevent stockpiling. That might make CtC much more interesting
