Ove played Vendetta Online for about a week now and have the following observations.

1. It seems that licenses are hard to aquire due to the linear system of earning experience points. Someone with a low level of experience should be able to gain experience faster by proving themselves with harder combat.

2. Experience should also be gained toward licenses by blowing up other players, porportional to what they are. By not allowing growth in combat this way, no one can grow as a pirate.

3. Space seems too 'covered'. There are straightforward ways to get here and there, but none that I would consider 'going the back way'. Each entrance is covered by a base station at a wormhole when entering a faction's space. This makes strategic attacks impossible.

4. There needs to be a way to transfer credits to other players. By allowing this, players can create missions for each other, and provide escort services on risky terrain to weaker players.

5. Players should be able ot change their affliation mid-game. Most players do not know anything about any of the races when they begin, thus usually want to change their alignment without restarting the game. When someone starts the game, they should choose which section of space they begin at, and can choose their affliation by gaining status points with the group they choose.

6. It seems that it is way too easy to lose status with anyone, and way too difficult to earn status.

7. Players should be able to capture stations (most likely a strong group would be required). Players who owned stations would have access to severly cheapened weapons, ships, and trade items. Any group with more than 4 stations, new players can begin in their territory.

8. Forged Licenses should be available at Pirate Stations if Pirates cannot gain experience by attacking other players.

9. Stations should not send out bots to stop fighting in their sector unless the fighting is close enough to cause damage to the station itself, like 1000 m.

10. Weapons designed for pirate activity should be available in pirate space, such as a jump inhibitor, or an ion storm generator (which would generate a storm trapping those in the sector minus the bots, and if placed right, would snag players jumping between other sectors).

There seems to be too much order in the game right now. The above suggestions would infuse some excitement and keep people playing.

2 - You do get combat XP for killing a player whose a higher level than you.

4 - type /givemoney <Playername> [amount]

5 - You can switch by gaining enough faction, but your race doesn't change. You're just an Itani serco or veice versa or whatever.

Welcome to Vendetta Online, Lightfox.

1. ...Someone with a low level of experience should be able to gain experience faster by proving themselves with harder combat.

You can do this already.... you don't have to take the beginner combat mission to level up. Nothing is stopping you from going after TyCorp assaults and gaining 10x more experience than from killing collectors..

2. Experience should also be gained toward licenses by blowing up other players...

Already implemented. If you pk someone of a higher license level than yourself, you gain combat xp.

3. Space seems too 'covered'. There are straightforward ways to get here and there, but none that I would consider 'going the back way'...

It would be cool to eventually see some hidden whs that led to a secret entrance... but it's not hard to sneak into enemy territory if you have a fast ship and nerves of steel. Just make a series of jumps to throw the SF off your tail and head for an unmonitored sector.

4. There needs to be a way to transfer credits to other players. By allowing this, players can create missions for each other, and provide escort services on risky terrain to weaker players.

Already implemented; it's /givemoney <player> <amount>. And an actual player designated mission system is also on the way.

5. Players should be able ot change their affliation mid-game... When someone starts the game, they should choose which section of space they begin at, and can choose their affliation by gaining status points with the group they choose.

The changing affiliation mid-game thing has been suggested numerous times, and the devs have said they want to move in that direction. I'll post the link if I can find it. Choosing where to start is an interesting idea though...

6. It seems that it is way too easy to lose status with anyone, and way too difficult to earn status.

Depends... it's very easy to earn status via the trade missions, but if you drop below -600 with any faction you have to bot your way back up which takes some time.. and for any of the greyspace corporations this is impossible.

7. Players should be able to capture stations...

Indeed this will be very, very cool.

Also very cool :D

9. Stations should not send out bots to stop fighting in their sector unless the fighting is close enough to cause damage to the station itself, like 1000 m.

I'm fairly certain that the NFZ for most stations is 1,000m, meaning if you are out further than 1k from the station the guard will not bother you for firing your weapons, unless you are already KOS for that faction.

10. Weapons designed for pirate activity should be available in pirate space, such as a jump inhibitor, or an ion storm generator (which would generate a storm trapping those in the sector minus the bots, and if placed right, would snag players jumping between other sectors).

Another good suggestion, one that has been suggested many times ;)

I am not sure how you would do forged licenses, but theres a suggestion for disabling and boarding ships on page 4.

6. It seems that it is way too easy to lose status with anyone, and way too difficult to earn status.

This is very true to life. It is always easier to lose someone's trust than it is to earn it back.

oh, yeah, it takes a whopping week to get admired everywhere, and if you take some care, you never ever lose faction to the point where you have to go botting.

(hey, Yoda, lose!)
