Player/Guild stations and territory

Hi all. I haven't played VO for several months, but I have been occasionally checking the forums to see how the game is progressing. So, I haven't been following all the suggestions closely and this idea might have been mentioned. If it has, forgive me.

While browsing one of the threads talking about player/guild owned stations I had a thought. What if when a station is built a territory is created around that station prohibiting other stations from being built within it. The larger the station, the larger the territory. This could prevent overcrowding and lead to interesting turf wars.

If a player/guild wants to build a new station in someone elses territory they need to first damage/destroy the station currently occupying that space. Or, lets say there are two stations with territories bumping up against each other and one wants to expand. A raid to damage the neighboring station would shrink its territory and make room.

Seems like it could add a whole new dimension to PvP play.

PvP conflicts of this sort would be wonderful. Actually being able to change the universe (by blowing up stations, even if they are player-made) is the kind of high-end function most MMORPGers dream about, in all MMORPGs (except for Shadowbane. They don't dream. They just fight :-D ). It would be great to see it implemented in Vendetta.

I can imagine just how interesting Guilds would be, when we have frequent territorial and conquest wars in grey space between the Guilds...
