more jump/wormhole sound effects

yes, as my subject states ive just started playing on a subscribed account and i just thint there shoud be some more sound with thoes jump/wormhole animations. let me know what you think!

I agree. We also need aural alarms for reahcing the wormhole and the 3000m mark (so you know that you've reached it).

Yeah, more sounds would make the game feel a lot more active. A few warning klaxons, and punchier wormhole/jump effects would be cool. I'd love to have a wormhole effect that sounds kind of like it's winding up before the boost.

only if they can be disabled... I would get severely annoyed if there was some warning sound every time i crossed the 3k mark.

Not if it were the right sound for it, something unobtrusive that quickly becomes part of the background.

The "beep" from a hit is annoying as hell, yet no one complains. It's become associated with the good feeling you get when you land a shot.

(Of course, now that I've pointed that out, people might notice it and become irritated)

The sound for the jump boundary wouldn't have to be some annoying announcer saying, "SAFE JUMP RANGE REACHED ACTIVATE JUMP DRIVES *KLAXXON*" - a tiny soft beep, ding or even a vibration would be all that's needed. You'd quickly forget about the sound and focus on the image/reaction it evokes - jump.

I agree with the added sound effects. I think the KLAXXON shoud be reserved for your last 5% of health in a battle.

I think jumping into a wh should be a very bassy BOOOOM as you enter. I think that sound should travel quite a distance so that others in the sector can faintly hear it as well.

I think a simple *tick* or *ding* could work well for the 3k or wh mark.

I would also like to see some sort of warning when you are targeted. You don't know if the person near you is hostile, but if they target you, you can have a better idea whether or not they will fire. If not a sound effect, then perhaps a flash on the radar of the one that has you targeted...or both...

Wormholes and alert sounds should be treated very carefully... you don't want repetative sounds to be overbearing or grating at all, and wormholes in and of themselves appear so peaceful I don't know if they really need any sound at all.

But yes, this game could use a lot more/varied sound effects.

Well, Incarnate's still redoing jump/wormhole effects. Perhaps he could add some soundage at the same time? I can envision a cool slurp sound when your ship enters a wormhole. :P
