How about some tasty snacks?

We all know that there are some great things coming, and we're all very excited about the really big stuff we're hearing about. I know that the game is getting better, but it's hard sometimes to keep the game as it is exciting when the timeframes are far from definite. We know you're working hard, and we know you're making progress, but it's sometimes hard to see.

I would like to suggest giving us a little candy before the big dinner. Give us some things that are easy to do, and can be altered or removed quickly. For example, some of the most fun I've had in the last few months is the intrigue around the Spike. How about some more unique widgets? I'm told they're pretty easy to create, and they facilitate some interesting role playing and give people something to search for. Maybe even make them appear in random stations for sale or something.

Another tasty treat would be a new ship variant. I think a lot of us are clawing for a Moth variant, maybe something horribly slow with a much larger cargo capacity. Even more fun, a new ship variant or two, completely unannounced. Let us discover some stuff.

I think giving us some little bits to tide us over until the big stuff arrives will make the wait a lot more bearable, and really keep us excited for a great game.

that behemothe sounds unbearably slow!

Yeah. It is really only meant to be an interesting bit of candy -- something to play with escorting. I thought some kind of an event could be held with a couple of these. Perhaps 2 guides could fly one each along the CtC routes once, at the same time (fully loaded with Purified Xithricite of course.). Another possiblity would be for another pirates v.s. convoy player-organized event carrying Luxury Goods from Azek to Odia.

Add a small port to that critter, and another zero to its cargo capacity. Knock the drain down to 60. And yeah, give Aeolus something already.

ehehe dr lecter wants to do some mining

NO! ;) But seriously, it is supposed to be a toy, not anything close to broken and certainly not the mother of all mining boats. I was going to suggest it get 1 large port or even no weapons at all, but I figured that would be harder to implement. I was looking for something that ought to take like 20-30 minutes to implement.

Oh, and of course they would just HAVE to be colored rubber ducky yellow!

Nice thread Hijack...

yes! i think that tumblemonster has some correct thinking here. take a day to add whatever interesting stuffs can be done in that day, and then we can play with it all and then be happy and etc...

No, I agree, tumble. Adding a few new widgets here and there is easy and exciting!

Thanks, tumblemonster. ;) But seriously I agree that even just one little thing every other week or so would be really nice.

* Candy Suggestions:
Behemoth variant (odd faction)
Purified Heliocene widget (1cu queen drop)
Stasis Pod graphic
Refined Radioactives widget (1cu drop by waste bot mission)

The Makchuga has been asking for a supply of gargle blaster widgets for events for a few weeks now... >.>

OH NO, HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN THE GARGLE BLASTER WIDGETS!!! Yes, that is also a candy suggestion.

I wonder how hard it is to add and remove Roids? Maybe a unique roid quietly appears in a previously empty sector. Little things to add mystery and fun. I remember RelayeR posted a system message one night about an supernova destroying a station and killing Mecha. Eight of us grouped up and went hunting for a new station, that turned out was just the message. But what if that had been a clue? We spent an hour an a worthless quest true, but it didn't have to be. Another possibility for a tasty treat.

even if there had just been a bunch of random widgets in one sector (to represent the debris) that would have made the search a lot more interesting. and stuff like that can be done buy the guides (i think) so we could organise some of these ourselves

Actually, I like the asteroid idea, tumblemonster. How about a new large 30% Heliocene, 40% Pentric, 40% Denic asteroid in a gray space Hive sector? There could be a news story about a miner claiming on an open frequency Eureeka about striking it rich just before being blown apart by bots.

New racetracks. One next to each of the nation capitols :D Or just move the ones we have.

Sorry about the double post, but anyone remember sector 411? That half-asteroid that was spinning at a crazy rate but if you timed your boost just right you could make it to the hollowed out "safety zone" at the center? Now that would be an awesome easter-egg/point of interest.

I would prefer if there were new racetracks at the capitols. Could we have a (small-ish) 100% good ore asteroid inside the crazy spinning asteroid?

Trust me, I'm working on tasty snacks :).
