those lvl's, could they mean something more?

as we spend many hours getting our character levels to 10, 15, or the illustrious 20 (as many of the npc's) could these levels mean more to us?

after the level ceiling created by the requisites for ships, could these levels perhaps give each character a military ranking.

i do undestand that this would require re-writing some of the game script, but maybe if there was some recognition for our hard work, there might be a slight change in the workings of the game itself.

i could imagine a noobie/private, directing their questions to specific players instead of just in general. this would be easier for noobies to find mentors. plus, a veteran player/commander, could have special opportunities offered to them that a disciplined player/captain woudn't.

i know it sounds like what is happening already, but i think an outright rank/title might have a quicker response from other players.

No. I'd say not. I'd say we let Incarnate add military stuff as entirely separate from licenses.

Or make getting licenses such a passively fun event that noone even cares!

I'm with rogue on this one. If military rank could be gotten by mining for fish, it'd be kind of pointless.

how about we forget about the mining for fish...

a military rank derived from combat/light/heavy that's it. it was just a suggestion.

nah, what we want us just a new skill category: Command licences

You'd get command XP points for completing missions etc whilst leading a group - or in special military missions maybe...

The Devs have their own idea of how military service will work; from what I've heard from them, you'll enlist (kinda like you register yourself as a bounty hunter) and then you'll get special missions for which you'll be subsidized for thre equipment, might even get to play with special equipment for a while. Of course, that'll meant some restrictions, like missions demanding your presence all of a sudden at any time of day and what not. So Licenses won't be tied at all to this, except maybe for a minimum License to enlist. I think that way is best.

Woo. I didn't know that, but it sounds great, jex.
