So..... no more comments about this?

well, for what it's worth, it's a good idea to limit the number of n3s. but n3s are useless for as long as law gun farming is possible.

if friendly fire was removed, the pop-in-station+duel farming method would not be possible and this would cut down on the number of law guns available.

(i've actually done that pop-in-station thingsa few times out of sheer boredom... i dont use law guns).

uc, you obviously didnt read anything past few first posts.

I like it. Another layer of conflict for the red and blue can't be a bad thing. But make the rewards only useful for combat, so that UIT who don't wish to participate can truly not care.

I understand your concern about making an even MORE powerful prom, however: the enhanced Vulture you proposed is not a balance to your new Valk. Three options of which we should pick one:
give it a bit more thrust; a third small port; 2k more armor
(I think I like the armor idea best, just to make it quasi-equal with a valk vengeance) and that might do it. 1000 ctc kills is no small feat.

Well I had that in mind when I proposed this.
Ships and weapons tweaking will be up to devs.

Badges & rewards will not be easy to aquire but they will give a sense of accomplishment when you finally get them.

We could kill several birds with this:
1. Get a real & special military hardware
2. Good and lasting pvp and group combat fun
3. Exclusive military badges to brag about :P

Edit: I presume it would take all time best VO ctcers about 5 to 7 weeks to get all the badges. Competition would be fierce so nobody should be able to pull 200 ctc kills in one week I hope.

If you give different ships to the opposing nations, the balance wars will ensue... If you make the N3 more like a lawgun, and figure out some way to prevent stockpiling, I think that would do the trick.

As for UIT, instead of fighting for one side or the other, we should be able to steal from either side, haul them to Dau, and win our own damn N3s (or whatever).

I like Krag's idea, with one small change. Take the cargo to Serco, you get cash and they get N3s. Take it to Itani, you get cash and they get N3s. Take it to the union, you get a ton of cash as they profit from selling the goods, they don't give a crap about n3s.

Military "service" is coming as its own set of missions and perks (including special equipment and medals), but it's still ways down the line.

As for CTC, I like Aramarth's mod on Kragmier. Now, I think the Union doesn't make N3s out of some deal with both nations, but everyone who has used one knows Corvus widowmakers are, in fact, N3s. So, give pure xith to Corvus, you get cash and you get widowmakers. That adds the pirates to the CTC furball!

First we need to have a furball.
With a nonexistent itani/serco conflict and ctc as it is now....

Performing feats beneficial to the progress of the Itani/Serco war effort earns "Military Points". Upon receiving the appropriate rank, these points could be exchanged for powerful limited issue military supplies. Individuals active in this system would find themselves privy to the latest technological advances, and military rank.

Things that might earn points would include:

- Successful completion of Border Patrol missions
- Successful completion of Border Skirmish missions
- NPC and PC kills of the opposing faction. (PC's the most)
- Defeating a high ranking member of the oppsing faction in a fair duel.
- CTC delivers and ambushes. (Especially deliveries)

Things which might lose points would include:

- Wrongfully attacking an individual with high Itani status
- Failure of either Border Patrol or Border Skirmish missions.
- Excessive death tolls.
- Losing a fair duel to a member of the opposing faction.
- Being on the losing side of the CTC conflict.

Although some of the negative repercussions of the point system may seem harsh, it's to be reminded that such a system is a priviledge, and any benefits are through a method of careful rationing. Although the loss of certain missions, such as the CTC effort can at times be unavoidable, the truth remains that without those supplies less advanced equipment will be available, and likewise less "Military Points" will be distributed amongst one nation's pilots. Bearing this in mind, a nation with an unusually low number of war pilots may find more supplies available for the individual than otherwise.

Does anyone even have Corvus Widowmakers anymore? I still have a set somewhere.

So what's to stop an unscrupulous invididual from buying up all the N3s?

The "Military Points". It's like the point system the U.S. used in World War II to ration.

I like the general idea but there are a number of problems with both ctc itself and with one of the proposed awards.

CTC is fundamentaly imbalanced. The itani convoy route is more secure due to both the Edras I-2 station and the dearth of player traffic in Pelatus/Bractus in comparison to Latos/Sedina.
Also the convoy speeds at the end of the week favor itani as the valkyrie is superior at interception compared to the serco options (hornet/hog/atlas-x). Solution: add serco station at Ukari A-10, remove Azek/Latos wormhole, move Levi (along with primary focus of hive skirmish) to Odia, add stations to Bractus and Pelatus, reduce ctc convoy end of week speeds and add more guard bots.

Also I have a problem with making a super valk. I'll sidestep the prom/valk uber-ness nerf debate and suggest something I think would be acceptable to both sides: offer a special IBG with improved armor and a special SVG with improved thrust as rewards. This gives each side a better 'second-class' level ship as a reward.

The original poster's idea would be a great one if steps are taken to balance ctc, otherwise it'd just make itani an even more attractive choice.

People switch to Itani because of CtC?

Also the only thing the devs should change with CtC is the Itani guarded wh in Edras. More players in Sedina/Latos is just how it is, if you want this changed start fights in Odia or Bractus. Chasing in VO in general is pretty difficult, and the valk only makes it a little bit easier. It's still tough to take out convoys, and at least this gives the valk one advantage over the prom...Plus levs will soon be everywhere so their concentration in Sedina won't matter soon.

But, lets stay on topic, k? This I think is my most discussed suggestion, and it must remain pure! If you make a topic about CtC Suggestions in general I would enjoy discussing this more with you.

As I recall, the REASON there are more people in Sedina/Latos is BECAUSE of CtC. :P

As per your request Smittens, I've created a separate thread for discussion of ctc balance. http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/16394#207208
