Have you considered lowering the spin torque and mass instead to favor lighter weapons?

The valk isn't overpowered in the medium and heavy weapons department, though. We just want to gut its obnoxious runningness without fucking up its combat mobility -- the latter of which is exactly what lowering the spin torque and mass would do.

Concept grasping fail, PaK.

It might also be interesting to turn a version of the Valkyrie in to the sort of ship that can very briefly run down an interceptor. It would need lots of turbo thrust, a top speed over 225m/s and very high drain - 63 or so to start. Such a ship could engage/disengage at will, but not run for long distances, and it could hit interceptors with flares as they tried to escape.

yea that's what i want the X-1 to be with high drain and 235 boost thrust. its not gonna run one down but its gonna get close.
we could just make it ridiculous like 65 drain and 300N boost thrust could make thing... interesting to say the least.

oh yea plus the armor/weapons nerf of course :P
Just though about this, the X-1 I suggested should be the Akanese X-1 variant.

Let's just focus on one step at a time for the moment. I think a simple decrease in turbo thrust and an increase in turbo drain is a reasonable place to start.

^ Aye.

Complex problems usually are better solved by complex solutions.

I no longer think that changing one or two small parameters is the best solution. Valks are not specialized. Read again my table. X-1 becomes even faster and lighter, but loses armour. A combat ship a Jedi would use, so agile that its best defense is dodge. While one become interceptor, others become clearly superiority fighters.

I know you can do better. Let's have a topic for what to do with Valks.

Also, I don't want to see Valks Nerfed. Let's add specialization, then balance the serco side, then UIT...

Incorrect.

Valks are not specialized

Yes, they are. Though not as much as we all wish, I think. +1: Let's add more specialization

Let's have a topic for what to do with Valks.

That's what this is, don't you think?

X-1 becomes even faster and lighter, but loses armour.

Not what we're looking for.

Also, I don't want to see Valks Nerfed.

Nearly everybody disagrees.

balance the serco side, then UIT + after the Valkyries are fixed.

+1

The OP is not about VALKS, but about PvP and Balance... I proposed a topic only for Valk changes.

Plz show me how are valks specialized. Almost only difference I see is X-1 being smaller, variants' stats (and objectives) are almost the same!

Also, it was already raised by someone else, but maybe the response for Valk superiority could be a Serco WEAPON, instead of another ship or nerfing the Valk...

And if simple solutions could fix this, then we solved it with 100kg?

I agree with lowering turbo thrust and boosting drain first. That would solve the main issue. Everything else is just icing.

Alloh: A simple solution can solve the main problem, and 100kg is a simple "solution". Unfortunately, 100kg is the wrong simple solution.

We're talking about valk changes at the moment. Valks are intertwined with PvP and balance.

The Rune is a transport. The IDF is an interceptor. The Vengeance is an armored varient. The X-1 is a prototype. They're specialized, just not enough.

A serco weapon that would be effective against Valks would also give them a great advantage against other ships, that couldn't be balanced by an Itani weapon.

+100kgs is a simple solution. It is not, however, an effective solution, nor is it to the proper scale it needs to be. Simple solutions such as turbo nerfs can be effective, as you well know.
