Nation military members

Members of a nation's military should be forbidden to freely travel in the nation space of their enemies. In other words, even if you have respect faction standings with the enemy, if you're in the military, the border turrets should still shoot at you. This includes UIT members who choose a side. In addition, UIT members that have military membership (and thus are allowed to dock with blockade fleets) should not be allowed to buy UDVs.

A way out: Terms of enlistment that are for 3 months at time before reupping. This would be game time, not real time. If you're not enlisted, you don't get access to military hardware.

+1 to the basic idea. I would say just have military membership cap your standing with the opposing faction at a maximum of Hated, and then let that induce the hostility.

Although I disagree about the UDV. Currently, joining a military does not grant members of the UIT access to Valks/Proms, therefor it should not deny them access to the UDV. I think this should partially change, but I agree with people who say that UIT who join a side still shouldn't get the top-end variants of the Valk and Prom platforms. Which means they should probably still retain access to the UDV, thus allowing them to bring something unique to the battle in exchange for not having the X-1 or SkyProm.

-1 Stupid idea.

This is clearly a post by a serco nationalist.

I see no benefit to gameplay by adding a military membership restriction in opposition space. Standing recovery itself carries enough risk, there is no reason to add another layer.

And Rin's point on the UDV is well put. The OP suggestion would effectively punish UIT for joining either military, which is ridiculous.

-1 If a member of a military can travel in enemy territory freely, then they clearly aren't committed or involved in nation activities in any meaningful way. There might be a very slight minority that are active, that pay the toll with a fair amount of grinding in order to improve their standing with the enemy in between involvements.

Since so far as I know, there is no way to leave a military once you've joined it, I don't see any reason to penalize players for trying something and deciding they just aren't into it and go on to do other things.

Any Itani's participating in the border conflict, which is all being in the military currently pertains to, would have KOS standing with Serco, which makes the OP unnecessary.
