fixing the strike force defense of hive bot sectors

(This is the result of this http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/1/7270 discussion.)

The problem:
Pilots with "Hate" standing can't even kill bots to gain standing. If (for example) a Serco pilot enters an Itani sector that only contains hive bots (no Itani), an Itani Strike Force (SF) is immediately called. If a Serco enters an empty Itani sector the SF is not called. Why does the SF defend hive bots? Presumably, this logic was added to protect newbies working on combat missions from the evil player killers. The flaw in this feature is that it is nearly impossible for "Hated" pilots to gain standing.

Now there is plenty of discussion regarding the Serco-Itani war in the thread linked above. So let's use a different example: What if a pilot is hated by his own faction? Sucks to be that guy. Say goodbye to gaining levels.

A solution:
When a player enters a sector now, there's obviously some logic that checks that pilot's standing and calls in the strike force. I recommend changing this logic to "whenever a player enters a SF protected sector, check to see that there is:
- a %Local_Faction% pilot in good standing (not Hated) and
- a Hated pilot
If both conditions are met, then call in a strike force."

This allows for Hated pilots to kill bots without allowing them to threaten local pilots. If a local pilot enters the sector, the game acts as thought he/she just called in the strike force. If the Hated pilot is paying attention, he/she can run away and find another unoccupied sector to kill bots in.

Not true.
you have to enter sectors which are -NOT- in the status "monitored". There are plenty of those, and there you don't get a strikeforce at you.

Look at what the map says:
Monitored == Bots come if you're hated.
Guarded == bots are already there.

Spider, he meant Low level pilots with Hate, ones which couldn't fight the higher level bots found in unmonitored sectors.

hmm. Are really TyCorp assaults considered high level?

*blinks startedly*

I agree that ApuTech-17 , orne, Valent A-47 and Prosus assaults are high level though.. I'd like some more variety, I'd love to be able to blast at some artemis collectors for five hours without damage and be loved by Itani, but I don't think that'd be fair.

tycorps are pretty hard in a bus... I mean they're bots... but not all players have as easy of a time against bots as vets do. Remember that skill is often much more significant than levels.
