as far as I know these suggestions arent on the Admins list.

These are simply ideas i noticed while I was playing that could make the game more enjoyable:

1. More scenery: I was in a sector with a ringed planet in the background and thought that was a nice touch. I played EVE and they had nebulas and binary stars swirling about in their background. Looked real pretty. Maybe the devs could try implementing something like that. Some light reflection of a close-up Star might be a nice touch too.

2. Player run trade: Might make player encounters more enjoyable if there were a way for players to trade or buy and sell with each other. In-station or preferably out(I think i see a way to sell goods outside the station: Since you can give money, whats to stop someone from receiving money in exchage for jettisoning the requested cargo for the buying player to pick up on his/her own?). My next idea runs along the same vein.

3. Player run stations: Whether bought or built (depending on whether you expand on mining to include crafting and building), players can run their own stations and create their own missions and such. There's alot of space out there, and making player stations is simply the next logical step with groups and guilds. A place where players of a group or guild can call home base.

4. Voice chat (probably will never happen, but a nice thought anyhow): At the very least, narrowed to local channels, ships can only communicate through voice in the same sector or something like that. To keep from channel clutter it should be a button activated voice chat.

Thats about it. If I think of more ill let you know.

1.) The background scenery is based off where the sector is in the system. On the navmap, it will show where stars & planets etc. are. Sectors close to those will have large suns & planets on their skybox; sectors further away will get progressively smaller.

2.) As you note, we can already do this with /givemoney & jettisoning, for cargo widgets. An automated player-trade interface could be nice, but isn't too high up on my wishlist. For actual ships & equipment, it could potentially lead to situations some consider to be exploits: /me starts selling IDF Valkyrie Vigilants to level 1/2/1/1/1 Serco players with -800 Itani standing. There are of course ways that it could be done to not allow or to limit that (can't use anything you don't have license/standing for; or you can use it, but if you dock anywhere other than Corvus, you can a standing hit for using unlicensed equipment, and the EQ is confiscated, etc), but it does complicate the situation, making it more difficult to implement.

3.) Coming Soon(tm).

4.) /me feels guilty about how lazy he is. I've been working on this, and it should be really easy to do, but I keep not working on it. I'll try to shape up. http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/9/8567

1: Vendetta Online already has "light reflection" in the form of pixel shading. If you have a high-end video card that utilizes pixel shaders, you can either type /set rglow 1 in the console, or by turning on the Full Scene Glow Effect (in Options > Graphics) and the Shaders option in Options > Video.

2: As you mentioned, player-run trade does exist outside of stations. It would be safe to assume that some version of instation player-player trade will exist at some point.

3: Planned, but I don't think it's in development yet. This feature will probably come in conjunction with or shortly after the Exploration add-on.

4: As far as has been discussed, TeamSpeak is very good for this purpose when used with Vendetta Online. Only downside is, if you're on a Mac, you have no way to use it.

Unfortunately, I have an NVIDIA® GeForce™4 440 Go GPU on my PowerBook®, and it doesn't have programmable vertex shaders. As a result, IMHO, my screen does not look very attractive. Adding Bagginz's "nebulas and binary stars swirling about" would definitely help to compensate--I would very much wish to see this.
