Has anyone compiled a training manual or guide at this point?
Maybe some form of getting started DOC?

ok in short

always buy the wedgets inherent to that sector, for instance for
sector 1, that are the blue ones. The reason why you have to
buy these is because they are the cheapest to buy, and therefore
can be sold with most profit somewhere else

BIG TIP: never, never aggravate a more experienced player, never foulmouth against a pirate, they will just chase you and use you as their B***h. Take that advice from me, I put this first because it is very vital to every newbies survival. If you really want that somebody who stole your cargo will be taken care of, just tell this in teamchat and try to soften up the more experienced players on your team to kill him. Never, never demand it, just ask if they want to do that. Mostly you willll find plenty people who have gone through the same as you did and don't want anything else then taking revenge :D

ADVICE: never trade if you have a big bounty on your head, just take the free ship "AC88" and fly against an asteroid or ask if somebody wants to buy it from you, if nobody replies, do what I have stated prior

ADVICE2: if you are trading in a free ship, never take a long route, always take a short one or let somebody else escort you. Just ask through teamchat "shift+t by default"

ADVICE3: if you are trading in a medium "wat nobody normally does" always equip swarms for bots and mines for agravating pirates "but don't trust that will work, better run away and drop them in the meanwhile"

ADVICE4: best trading is possible in a heavy, because of its 14 tradepots and the possibility to drop lightning mines, they are your friend :D. But always try to run while dropping.

PS: you aren't a coward if you run away, they are a coward for jumping you ;). Besides just run to live another day, a day that you chose and therefore is in your favor.

FOR BLUE:

easy pickings: 1-4-1

this means buy blue wedgets in 1 and advanced mining wedgets in 4 "if you have the money" otherwise buy the normal mining wedgets. Sell these in 1 and do the run again

Mostly made for starting when you haven't got a lot of money, mainly used for when there are a lot of pirats on and you are still unable to effectively defend yourselve.

advanced easy pickings: 1-4-7-1,

just always buy the sector inherent wedgets, the advanced ones, and you will be allright.

for more advanced playerw: 1-4-9-1 "nets 17k"

This will be an easy traderoute: when you can shoot at least 2 sector 8 bots without the use of a swarm and while you are in a heavy.

If you are a newbie: only do this route if you find yourselve capable of launching 2 swarms on the defending bots. But do take care, they are extremely difficult if you don't watch yourselve.

as before just buy the sector specific wedgets. "so blue, then advancded mining , then advanced nano" sell them respectively in the next sector I stated

ONE REMARK:

Don't do this when there are pirates on, like:

Leathal, furbal and some others

FOR GOLD:

beginning: 3-6-3
next step: 3-6-7-3
advanced: 4-9-4
you take this route because it is the fastest route and nets
a lot

FOR RED:

beginning: 2-5-2

you haven't really got a intermediate step in here, best bet is to do this : 4-7-4 or 6-7-6 if you are certain that nobody of the oposite team will hurt you, always state when you are ihn hostile territory that you are non-hostile, but by all means don't take advantage of it ihn the wrong way. Because people will stop believing you and start blasting you on sight

Advanced: 2-5-9-2

like normal the red, then advanced sector 5 specific wedgets then advanced wedgets

I really hope that this will help you in any way.
and please stay away from the path of the pirate, it is a most unnoble livesthread :D. Because it isn't a good bushido "way for a warrior" and you all now the saying what goes around comes around :D

cheers

PS: running = boosting, you do it by pushing the tab button, but take care for your energy level. because you need 100% of energy before you can jump
