I noticed an Aputech-17 Guardian I encountered looked like your dentek, spuck.

yeah ..looks like all the golden bots got whitified.
Also queens have orange lights now. That's so wrong ..the color of evil mutants is green not orange!

I think spuck is just confused about how to use the viewer, and his viewer's shaders are way out of date.
The big difference (aside from normal maps and stuff) is that the bot-ships are dynamically colored now. So you have to use the dynamic coloration feature to match the earlier color. Most of these "before and after" shots use different dynamic colors, which gives the impression that the color changed. It.. didn't. The queen isn't any more "rust" colored now than it was before. The overseer is not "gray" now. The queen's lights are not orange, they're just whatever color is dynamically defined for the whole object.
I dunno what the deal is with the blank Guardians. I emailed Ray.
I'll post some actual before-and-after shots next week, when I get a chance.

Huh ..I use the same widget that shows the rotating ship in the ship selection tab. I guess I'd have have to set the color now ..that makes sense. I left it at white in those shots.
edit: Shading wise I never really saw a difference between ingame shots and the ship viewer widget... other than that it's missing the engine glow
anyway .. I don't know the actual color so ..fear the green mutant overseer of doom!

Yeah, all the gold bots will show up white for now. I patched the server to fix it in-game (not necessarily your mesh viewer).
The gold bot ship meshes are deprecated in favor of the blue canopy bots with dynamic coloring of gold.

Love what you've done with the textures. Goes a long way towards making VO's graphics look more "modern".
