Xbox One Controller Help

Dec 08, 2016 jordanmorgan14f link
So I'm having an issue with Windows 10 (imagine that) and the Xbox One Controller on VO. After some calibration I was able to get VO to detect the Triggers properly (Xbox One detects the triggers as Z-Axis and Z-Rotation separately, unlike before. It detected them both as Z-Axis, with one trigger pushing it to one side, and the other to the other side.
I use the triggers for Accelerating and Reverse. Now before I could press LT and it would reverse. And RT would accelerate. But know.. well here:

This is the settings with no input:

Here is the settings with full input, both triggers pressed:

Now my issue is, there is no Reverse only bind in the in game settings, and config.ini just reverts itself back to its initial settings G's so I don't mess with that. But as you can see. Both axis's only go up. I tried inverting the Accel/reverse, but that only moves the default position all the way to the right, (so pressing it puts it at the middle where it has no input)

So basically I am asking if anyone knows how to reverse the input to move the other way for reverse, or is it only possible if GS implements a Reverse only command?

To use reverse have to invert it

..... I said I did that. But I already figured out an alternate scheme to workaround it, so thanks anyways

Yeah, I think you are right that this is something GS would have to address. I mean, I use the triggers for shooting, just because it feels more natural but you cannot bind them by default. I use AnalogToDigital to work around this for my situation, but I'm not sure it would work for your situation as I think you would lose the benefit of analogue control.

Yah, luckily I use an XB1 elite controller, so binding the Accel. Decel to buttons I never use and binding the paddles to those worked fine I suppose. Would be nice to have a use for those triggers again though

There's a bug where XBox One controllers don't properly invert their trigger controls on Windows. It will be fixed in the next update. We are adding a Decelerate command for analog inputs in the next update as well. Either option should do what you need.

Other controllers, such as Logitech F710 still has the single Z Axis for both trigger inputs.

Just install Ubuntu or something over this Windows 10 disk to sidestep the issue altogether.

The decelerate option for triggers is very nice. Thanks! It allowed me to take my button layout to a much better place.
