Yeah, I get spactator every time I die. When the "rebuy ship" pops up, I get Spectator, which changes very quickly into another ship. And, if I say "no" to rebuy ship, I get spactator on the "Buy ship page". Maybe Spectator is the placeholder for when you don't have a ship at all?

I have seen the "Observer" ship only once. It flashed up on the screen while I was scrolling through the buy a ship screen but it didn't have a picture of a ship it just had the name "Observer" and it's stats. I didn't think much of it at the time I just assumed it was a ship the devs/guide used to keep an eye on us.

I have seen Both - Spectator on the Reds and Observor on the Blue and Yellow...It IS a conspiracy.

I had that Observer/Spectator thing happen once to me, I bought a bus went out and then died, bought a new "bus" and it appeared as Spectator on the "Select Ship" menu, then it went away in 1-2 seconds to be replaced by EC-88
