I'm not complaining about the server being down, but would it be possible, and worth the time, to have a small indicator somewhere on the website so we could know the status of the server? IE up/down/restarting?

Umm, yes, it would be possible. But, considering how in the past two years of this game being online, this is about the first instance of such a thing being needed.. I would rather Andy spend the time making debugging the server, rather than making some new CGI to tell you that it has crashed.
