about my rant "unmute me now" thread

Mar 16, 2004 LaMas link
lo guys,

i haven`t been around for some time. nevertheless i am still muted.
well, anyway. i have tried to contact the guide/sherpa for several times during the first six weeks, unfortunately without success, which is , however, not too surprising since i live in europe and he (probably) lives in the us. different time zones make it harder to be online at the same time. having no real chance to contact sherpa annoyed me which led to the (admittedly rude) post. i won`t comment on the other posts although i disapprove of most of them.

Indeed, this would be the correct way to be unmuted. One can also write incarnate. I will unmute LaMas.

As mentioned, the guide system is a kludge and has many shortcomings. This would be one of them.

In general (and this is not necessarily directed at LaMas), if you get a warning from a guide, please heed it. If you MUST respond (rather than just altering your behavior) please keep it civil. If it appears that somebody is going to continue abusing players in chat after being warned, they will be muted. If they continue to make a nuisance of themselves (pm-ing me with profanity, for instance) they will be banned. After that, a civil request to be unmuted/banned along with an agreement to try to adhere to the rules is needed.

Please note that there is no built-in time limit for muting or banning. I do sometimes spontaneously release players who I know to be generally in control of themselves and may have just been overwrought one day. Repeat offenders are rarely spontaneously unmuted or unbanned.
