Pyro: :P Yes they will be, I need you to go to the site an join the moderate group please thanks.

Durgia: Yeah, but the problem is how to get from sector 2, 1 and 3 to s404. I think its good idea, or you get recharged in your home sector if you score is bellow a specific limit.

Well some guild like the INM and SDF were defensive in nature and both trained noobs etc. In this way they try to curb the community to a nicer cleaner type of fun. Other guilds like SAW and SM were out to cause Havoc. SM has now changed its ways btw, and is a half respectable organization.

Now when these 2 colide we get massive caos. I agree there needs to be some sort of newbie sector or something where they get auto healed like s 404.

The community for awhile had gotten better. I found myself enjoying the game once more. In the last week or so its fallen a long way again however. I hope it goes back to gettting better soon or I fear the game will lose all enjoyment once more.

I truely feel that all these problems will go poof when the actual game is released. So we just have to suck it up and withstand the immaturity, griefers and pure meanness until that time.

-In nature. That doesn't mean their members don't get all pissy and start shooting at random people just because they can. I notice that a lot of newbies now have the "if it's red on my radar I gotta shoot it" attitude. You trainer guilds need to deter that behavior. That's why everyone is so hostile to each other. IMHO

Magus, My last post on the INM thread in Role Playing, Shows the results of the things you are speaking about.
Non-hostile is the aim, Shame when one guild shows up, Another counter guild is created.

I have had, too, both postivive and negative moments playing Vendetta. You already mentioned both.

timmy10150: What I mean with the shield is a protection of higher playes so the new players have chance to learn the commands and naviagtion.

Vendetta Test : A View Back

I would like to say many thanks to all contributers and builder of making the wonderful world of Vendetta. I think you people have done a great job creating this game and I enjoy every minute of it.

I started playing last Summer 2003, were it was a team effort to cap and the community was nothing but friendly. The most thing that amazed me if the way the player helped me start of a good way. Now after a year a lot has changed positivly but also negativly. Some of the negativly thing is the behavior of the community. During the playing time when more and more people came the community became worse and worse. Like today Star Frezze showed me another great example of someone spamming the Team Chat with the word "Fuck". Almost all of the post in the forum have been either locked or edited due to insults and uncessary comments. Ingame has turned from a fun experience to a stressfull experience. I myself dont have multilog anymore on due to Spamming and Insulting (Yes, I do it sometimes too). A other major problem there are is capping is not a team effort more and new Groups/Clans appear and wars/insults start to appear. Some of examples of the clans are SDF, INM, SAW and -SM-. I myself left the SDF due to the fact that I got creamed everwhere I go and due to the increasing troubles between the Groups/Clans. A other major problem is newb killing. I think they should be specific shield around the noob till its has a chance to learn and play the game (Shield I mean, players can kill it, but bots, roids and defbots can).

On the positive note, I think the game has improved majorly. I like the new station and the 40-46 racing station. I am mostly there when there is war and just race. I also like the new frigate its always a new challenge for me and I heard the defbots should be harder. (Have not had time to check it out yet). Also I think some people have done a great deal of helping out the Vendetta Community. Some examples are Vendetta Ice, Bounty Bot, VendettaWevb and lots more. I myself is hosting the Vendetta Awards right now. The site will officially open next week. Just need to ask John some questions. Hmmm, well I think that all I wanted to say, just to let it out and tell people what I think. I glady hear your opinion of what you think had changed along the way. Please dont start ranting.

Thank You - Horgrathi

(Sorry about the spelling)

draco what would the shield be usefull for? cause you said "shield i mean, players can kill it, but bots, roids and defbots can"

Your observations are correct, Horgrathi. You are not the only one to notice these things (good and bad).
With new players coming into the game every day, it is inevitable that potty mouths will show up now and then.
We try to change them. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

There are a lot of helpful people playing. Even some of the "hard-a$$es" will soften up if handled properly.

Don't worry about your spelling or English. your thoughts were well understood, I'm sure.

Timmy: I'm sure he meant that other players "can't" hurt the newb.

And the uber-n00b sector should be no PvP and all nations need to start off in it together so the newbies learn to play nice. Ideally, everyone should be in a nation 0 and complete a series of training missions. Then they take a one-way wormhole to the nation sector for the nation of their choice after a quick breifing on which nation is which. Then, they're given a hull full of cargo and ushered into their home sector where they can dock, sell their cargo (which should yield a standard 5k) and let loose upon the world.

Magus...this is one of the most simple, straight-forward ideas I have ever read! I think it's a great idea and would solve/prevent a lot of the attitude and confusion problems we have now.
Mar 19, 2004 [Draco] link
I agree 100%, I think that a brillant idea...

/me's all for that idea Magus.

Here's an old thread that talks about it... might be worth bumping.

Hmm, I thought the idea was too good for me to have come up with it myself.
Mar 20, 2004 Eldrad link
Well you definately made a number of new points about it that are all good.
Mar 20, 2004 RelayeR link
I hadn't seen your post from December, Eldrad. /me pats both Magus and Eldrad on the back!

Another idea from other games was the little 'test' area where you had to maneuver your vehicle by sliding L/R & U/D, pulsing, rolling, turning and fireing your weapon before proceding to the opening sector.
Mar 20, 2004 Durgia link
I wanted them to make a sector that has instructions that pop up on the screen like the "Hit f1 for help" msg. Then they would have to do the whole course and at the end it would let them enter the game.
Mar 20, 2004 [Draco] link
There me be one trouble, what if you making a new character and you already know how to fly or something, mabey it should ask you if you want to take the turorial and if you click no, it takes you to your nations home sector.
