I'm sitting at my office, and will just go home and play :-)

In <http://vendetta.guildsoftware.com/?action=top> it looks
like "Kills" and "Deaths" are mixed up.
And I'm still missing, so are others that also got stuck in wh's
waiting for a dev to rescue us.

I'm a little confused on the whole mission system. The menu navigation is confusing at the moment. I was hoping you'd automatically be given a license when you reach a certain skill level; rather than having to end the mission, go to the mission menu, get more info on license testing, clicking accept or whatever. I think licensing should be done in a way that's similar to Grand Turismo 3. You get into an obstacle course, get into a temporary ship configuration that is given to you, and try to complete the task at a certain time/score. The license you get depends on how well you did on the score gradient or whatever.

Oh, and questions regarding ship/weapon availability. What missions (combat or trading?) do I have to take to get anything better than a bus? Do the trading missions give you better ships, while the combat missions give you better weapons? How does this work exactly? I want my Warthog with advanced gatling and geminis back.

=(

Well hey. If NT are truely neutral now, I'm switching sides so I can be a trader.

Arolte, i think each lisence gives you deferent availability....a trader will have trading ships (and hopefully) weapon lisence for auto-aim weapons while a combat lisence gives you the more agile/heavy ships and mass damage weapons (Flares)....

and about the way they work? that way you have to do what "they" (the mission computer) want's and build that faction you are working on..if you are a trader then you do transports..if you are a fighter then you fight, mabye will be asked in the future to kill a bunch of players from other nation...who knows..

Hint: take the combat practice mission if you want to get more skill points for botting.

Umm, Waylon or someone can explain some of that stuff, Arolte. The original plan was to have a testing phase for each license level, but for now you just get your license. That's why that mission exists. Aside from that it's kinda like heading over to the DMV.

I'm gonna investigate sector crashes now and probably schedule a server restart - one of my isolate-crashes-to-single-players-and-disconnect-them patches didn't make it onto the production server because I forgot to commit it. Doh.

Wow, I was only able to play for a couple of minutes, but it looks very cool. Definitely able to put wealth and game-play savvy over pure skill.

Wait, so NT is truly neutral now? Hmmm...

/me contemplates switching...

Update server is down. Does this mean that s4 is coming back online maybe?

Stupid question: is capture the flag gone yet?
Apr 28, 2004 Arolte link
Yes. And it looks like it'll be gone for good. In with missions, out with CTF.
Apr 29, 2004 Tilt152 link
Interesting.. So whats the purpose of having enough cash/skills with out the CTF feature?? Just nation wars I guess.

Mabie the guild system will come next?

Who knows.
