The Leviathan

Jul 17, 2005 UIT Border Patrol link
As most of you are aware, the legendary Leviathan was recently sighted several times in the Sedina system.
A Border Patrol Unit made contact with the third Leviathan. After several attempts, and with the assistance of several friendly pilots, we managed to retrieve a very large amount of information relating to its systems.
Among other data which we will not release, we managed to determine that the Leviathan is badly infected with the BLAK Hell virus which recently wreaked havoc with Border Patrol systems. This correlates with theories that the virus was originally intended to stop this beast from appearing near inhabited systems.
Unfortunately, it appears that the virus is having no effect whatsoever on most of the Leviathan's systems.
Originally, Border Patrol was ordered to engage the Leviathan on sight, but it has been determined that our deficient firepower is insufficient to damage the Leviathan to any degree should it return. Border Patrol will continue anti-Hive activities in general, but the presence of a Leviathan will necessitate the retreat of any Border Patrol Units in the area.

Initial scans of the structure of the Leviathan by IDF ships indicate that it is little more than a massive mobile production facility. Its only known armaments reside on the "top" half of the ship. However analysis of hive activity in the region show that the Leviathan is constantly producing Queens, who subsequently produce more hive ships. These hive ships will stop at nothing to defend the Leviathan.

Indeed if the BLAK Hell virus is doing nothing in the way of impeding the hive activities, we could see massive growth and even more advanced hive tactics in the future. For the sake of the survival of humanity in exile I pray that the instinct for survival of the hive does not turn to a campaign for dominion over the universe.

Well, me and a bunch of others have found that if you kill all the bastion Queens, the Leviathan runs for it and doesn't return, hehehe. Obviously in fear of any force capable of wiping out a Queen in under three minutes (I know I'd be).

We expect that to change, mind you, but for the moment seems as good a deterrent as any.

On another note, report from the field seem to point out the darn thing has turrets with an effective of 2000m. Can anyone confirm this?
