I'm reading a lot of repeat posters screaming about being Griefed.

Obviously something is going on...

I for one have not been griefed by anyone.

Any particular reason this is in Suggestions? General or Role Playing might be more appropriate, IMO.

I've not been griefed since the release of the new universe. Is that good enough?

Icarus/Serpentine attempted it with me, but it turns out that he now runs from me. Exploits don't work too often once someone's expecting them. :P

However, can I just mention that until we have a very clear idea of the definition for this topic it's probably not a good idea. It will probably become another flamewar.

On the note of being griefed, why don't we use Incarnate's new "Abuse System"...

Using that, I've not been "griefed" since alpha, and even during alpha I could easily fight back--I've managed to force a few attackers to retreat, repair and rearm in the past, giving me time to escape.

The closest thing to being griefed was Apex & Niki preventimg me from docking at Sedina D-14 when I was in a moth, they were laying concussion mines near the entrance and I lost a time bonus for my cargo, but no big deal.

Of course, Apex got what he deserved for that. Hehe.

Other than that, no one has ever griefed me because I'm so damn popular and well-liked by everyone. Or perhaps they don't want to see their tequila supply cut off... (/sarcasm)

I can't say that I've ever been griefed...come to think of it, there was that one time that 'Grazax of Zarqon 5' in a UFO chased me all over and trapped me in a station. Naw....I don't remember feeling griefed at the time....:)

The whole griefer civilwar thats going on around the abuse system is why I started this thread.

I got no sense of any fairness on the "Banning Player X Threads", and heard only the same people yelling louder and louder. I was getting a skewwed picture of the game.

I wanted to hear from people who don't feel that way...about the Griefing issue...And wanted to hear how it can increase Gameplay.

Now my "Griefed" Story.

I was trucking thru Versai in a Centaur outfitted for mining.
"Said BadMan" asked for 100,000 to leave me alone.
I refused, and for the next hour we fought over and over.
I lost a lot of ships and money...but I still refused to pay.
Eventually after an Impasse. I continued my prospecting mission with him looking all over for me...so I imagine.

I found it extremly invigorating to play stubborn and refuse to yeild...I think I infuriated the BadMan, and that pickled me tick.

EDIT: Names are fictional...may be the way to go to avoid flamewar..is the term no?

Leber, I think I've got a good supply in M-14. I'll keep it on hold for you. You'll have to pay me for the service though :P

EDIT: FSNI, there are ways to make it fun for the one being griefed, but as long as the griefer can run and not be caught these ways are moot, as they involve fighting back. That is part of what people are complaining about. It's not the fact they're being killed. No, not at all. It's the fact that they're not being allowed in any way, shape or form to fight back except leave the game.

Since "griefing" in my understanding means being repeatedly targeted by one player... about 3 attempts at a kill or 3 kills on me...

no, I have not been griefed... although I didn't enjoy it when 0 killed my bus after I told him I had no cargo.
