Umm, yeah, Screwball, you need to change the race stats post. Monk was flying an OCG Hornet, not a Hog. He switched ships after Lecter made a crack about it.

fooz: I may hire you for next week's race.

"you are all silly

racing is for people with no combat skills"

Who says EVERYTHING in this game requires combat skills? Besides, this is a player hosted activity which adds content to the game, and it is one of the only events that don't require skill in PvP.

When I first jumped to the Odia WH (At start of race) Lecter was right on my tail, then I lost him when I jumped. He started pursuing me again once I got to Sol II (Apparently when he gave up on Monk). Around the Ukari/Latos area I got hit (Not from Lecter) and was down to 50%, then later I got hit again down to 30%. The rest of the race was peaceful until I got to Odia M-14, where I saw Mecha Touriaus. I took the precaution to go on the opposite side of the station from him, and he fired some missiles, then out of no where BOOM!! (At first I thought it was lag or something that got me, then Mecha told me he railed me.)

I was SO close to finishing only to get popped... :(

(You know, it seems that whenever I am damaged, I always either repair or not repair at the wrong times. Like a couple months ago when I was killed by CNH, I would have survived if I had taken a pit stop. Last week I took a pit stop only to regret later when fooz finished 4 seconds ahead of me. This week I would have survived that rail shot and taken second if I repaired first.)

Note: (As already said) Monk was in a hornet MKII.

Ory Hara followed me through a couple Itani systems in a tri-flare valk, and managed to hit me once as I was jumping, but it did extremely little damage (???). Little happened until I was passing through Ukari or Latos where I jumped in on Lecter and another pirate in a prom planning on jumping the upcoming racers and I zoomed past them. They apparently noticed me too late =D. Doc followed me through a couple sectors but then gave up the chase. I knew Mecha was waiting at M-14, but he still managed to nail me with his tri-rail, but missed another time as I aborted trying to run to the station entrance. Then the Corvus strike forces' attack gave Mecha a bit of a problem, leaving me free to dock.

A very exciting race, we'll see which side I'm on next week =P

@DoF: I didn't race last week.

Hire somebody to give you feild-repairs then, DoF...I'm shure your guildmates would be happy to nanite your hull as you passed.

/me swears at self for missing this race. Sounds awesome.

Ahh well, I may miss the next one as well. I will attempt to be there, but no promises.

Looks like we're getting the beginnings of:
a) Pit Crews (repair folks who will help you out as you race)
b) Scouts (folks who run thru systems ahead of you to find WH's)
c) Defenders (folks who protect you at vital checkpoints)
d) Attackers (ebil nasssty folks who try to kill racers)

In fact, I'm gonna start a racing team. That's it.
Here we go:
