Nation War Event #2

Feb 19, 2006 moldyman link
Well, this was a fun event, though a bit lopsided for us Itani. here were the teams

Itani:
_Ghost_(Leader)
Blue Streak
Dazlme

Serco:
Cobalt314(leader)
toshiro
Harry Tuttle
Shedu
yakyuk
kalb

Union:
Stranger(Leader)
Caffeind
auouymous
Envill
ed_wong_hau

(The below are my experiences uring the event, since that's all I saw while I fought)

The teams started off approximately 2,000 meters from each other. With my signal, the groups took off... oth heading for our tiny itani group. We broke off and headed for the Union group and more specifically Stranger in his Centaur. After taking him out (and losing Dazlme during that time), I managed to follow yakyuk in my triflare Valk and release two volleys, taking out his Valk. _Ghost_ and I roke off, picking and choosing our targets, taking out who seemed vulneraable, ignoring us, etc. I managed to take out Harry Tuttle. I still has 1/3rd of my ammo left but wasted it all missing Cobalt314. With no ammo left and no other weapons, I started to fly around and distract, taking heavy damage as the Union team was almost wiped out at this point with almost the entire Serco team still left (though most heavily damaged). I was taken out by toshiro (a stray gauss shot got me in the butt, i believe). By the time I came bac from latos to observe a minute or two later, _Ghost_ was along facing Shedu's Centaur and Cobalt and toshiro's SVGs. _Ghost_ IBG eventually fell to the heavy onslaught of Shedu's AGTs and the event was over.

Winning team: Serco
Survivors:
Cobalt314 70%ish
toshiro 50%ish
Shedu 5%ish

So far, out of the four events I ran (the first two back in September and the two regular ones I've started) the nations stand at:

Union: 2 wins
Itani: 1 win
Serco: 1 win

Pleas relay yourr opinions, sugeestions and experiences during/for/about this event below

I had tons of fun and hope to see you all next week same time, 11pm Sunday GMT (6pm EST Sunday).

Oh, if the lag issue in Sedina B-8 issue is not resolved, I will shift this event permanently to the place it was today, Sedina D-2. It is an unmarked roid field and much better than B-8 if I do say so myself.

Definitely a fun event! If things are a go for next Sunday at 6pm EST, I'll try to be there and hopefully be of more use to my team this time.

Just for the record... I flew a Corvus Vulturius, not a Serco Vulture Guardian. I figured I wouldn't need it, what with no running and all.

Oh, and: Yeah, D-2 is more fun to fight in than B-8. There's no annoying cargo out there that would throw your targetting off. Also less traffic.

On the fight itself:

It's been the first furball for me since the new universe (about 1.5 years or so), and it's been fun. Here's hoping that there will be many more.

Minor correction, I was in a Prom MK2.

UIT was going after Itani at the start but quickly got broken up by the Sercos. Had a good fight with Shadu in a taur and toshiro in a Corvus Vult.

Had a good time and learned more about team tactics.

Now, I have heard a lot of complaints on the time, though turnout has been great so far! Over 15 people both times! Awesome considering the size of the community on at the time. However, I'd like an idea of who can attend when. So It's either the normal time of 11pm GMT Sunday or 12:01am Saturday? That's 6pom EST Sunday and 7pm riday for us Americans.

I'll be there for the upcoming event, and 11 GMT is absolutely wonderful. I'd be happy if you didn't change it. But of course I'd bend to popular opinion.

I'm for Sunday, 23:00 GMT, as well. Then again, I'm a european.
