I hate to agree with the Itani, but the whole "OMG UR RUNNING CUZ UR VALKS R FLYN CIRCLES ROUND US AN WE HAVA CHASSE U!!11" thing is retarded. Either counter it by learning to "fly" your group of proms as an actual space dominating block, or switch to some other tactic... but stop bitching that they nip you and then fly away. It all happens in a fixed bubble of space... that's all the rules require. Ghost nailed it when he pointed out that any non-valk pilot who goes chasing after one is an idiot.

A fair point Dr L . The valk is fast and light , and there is nothing wrong with using the space available to tactical advantage . Both Latos D2 and sedina D2 are big roid feilds, the fight can spread out. As host the final decision as to whether a player has run excessively must be mine. Since I return to arbitrate I tend to be using variable zoom to judge, and I accept that sometimes I might see things differently from players that are chasing a runner . I see nothing wrong with a player conceding and leaving the sector if they so wish, not what I would do , but I must allow it.

In a couple of wars I have drifted a long way off : usually because I have had pms about running or swarms and I'm trying to observe , but I do try to be sensible and fair in the way the event is run .

"According to all the arguments made by you Itani about how ships determine the outcome rather than skill, I should be dead in the air and a total non-factor every NW." by Aramarth

I have to say I totally agree with you on this point, there are many pilots out there that can beat the hell outa you in just about anything they fly. Denji, Maalic, kalb, Mecha, Vehement, and the list goes on. I choose a Valk for these events for that reason I personally don't believe my skills are up to snuff with those I have mentioned here and look for what advantage I can get to turn the tide in my favor. The Valk, I believe, gives me that...

#1 Speed- top speed in-game allows me to use the hit-and-run tactics that keep me alive longer

#2 WP slots- 3 of them I prefer dual energy but I cannot ignore the benefit of a tube of sunnies to disorient the opponent

#3 Armor- Good amount of armor for a fast fighter ship

So until such time as I feel I can compete on an even playing field, skill wise, I will continue to look for something that I believe puts me on a level playing field. I apologize if this is taken the wrong way.

Ego aside, anything could have happened honestly mimic could have done us all in and pulled in a win for the Grey team. I personally would have liked to see that.

I'm gonna kick myself for saying this, but if more people used gauss in nw's, you would see less valks. Even with the slimmer shape of the x-1, valks still eat gauss when they can't keep the target in front of them. That and a gauss vult and a prom together are very tough to beat. You can't take your eyes off of either.

For various reasons I think now would be a good time to reconsider distributing the NW prize to the winning team not just its survivors.

That would be a nightmare for the host - many people are not homed close by and/or log off before the War is over. Ecka would have to track down every single participant on that team for it to be fair.

No. It's simple. If you can't collect the prize within 5 minutes of the end you lose out.
