My resignation from TGFT

This may come as a surprise to many due to my very vocal support for TGFT, on the forums and in-game. But its been in my head since returning a month or so ago. When I first joined TGFT was much different. We had disagreements with Serco Nationalists, but we stuck to business. There were always trades on 100, business was good. We had allies. We were diplomatic
A lot has changed in a year. Upon my return I was faced with accusations of cheating, unsportsman like behavior, and all around tastless behavior, just because of the tag I carried. Of course, being loyal to the guild I called friends, I supported them, very vocally and aggressively. I left for not even a day to join GTE but was convinced by my guildmates Sieger that leaving was cowardly, and the rumors or unethical behavior were lies. So I returned, co tinuing my support. In time I found that I am no longer interested in trading. I like combat. Though some my argue it, I think I am pretty proficient at it. I'm by no means a vet, but I can keep up with the likes of SKV and FAMY. I also found that my interactions with SKV and FAMY when I was not slandering their name were for the most part very positive and enlightening. I found I enjoyed sparring with them more than I enjoyed spending time in guild chat talking shit about TGFTs enemies, which was about as far as guild events have gone recently. I brought up diplomacy with SKV, PvP training events and groups, and different recruiting and propaganda tactics, all of them for the most part shot down. I brought up creating a PvP Guild for TGFT, and was met with a lazy "Its your sub, do what you want" The guild attempt failed, apparently it's very hard to form a guild that is allied with TGFT. So I have decided to resign. Since /guild resigning I have already had better interaction with the general VO playerbase, and I see no point in returning. I hope there is no hard feelings from my friends at TGFT, but I'm sure based on my choices of potential guilds, there might be some animosity.

Thank you for your testimony! I'm glad that you found out the truth on your own, consequently having more fun and making the best out of your sub.

I am sorry to hear this. It sucks to see someone pushed out of a guild they love based on reasons that are out of their control, whether external or internal. Keep your head high and don't forget about TRI (we also like to keep our heads high).

I'm weighing my options. Even SKV Greenwall. Sorry if that makes me a good for nothing traitor. But at this point I would rather be a traitor than a trader.

He didn't say he wants no guild chat...he said he wanted combat more than guild chat.

+1 to savet. I didn't leave a dying guild to join a dead one.

I'm going to recommend FAMY even if you don't want to be a pirate. We have non-pirate members, but our members see more combat than most other guilds because people like to shoot the "bad guy." You will see more variety of combat in our guild than you will in a nationalist guild, and as a result you will get better faster because of the varied opportunities. We have a few very basic rules designed to protect the integrity of our service offering, but beyond that we're very much a "play how you like" guild.

A nationalist guild is also a good choice, but you'll see less variety in combat as you will have a defined enemy with a specific set of ships.

As I said Savet I'm weighing my options, but if you look at the Family Galactic Travel Forums, you will see an app from last night ;)

Indeed. You have a PM on our site so we can continue this discussion on a separate thread. Good luck in your decision.
