EDIT: This war has ended due to TRI fulfilling the condition.
[VOID] acknowledges [TRI] as a reasonable guild who backs their word and abides by their own rules of conduct. We're happy this could be solved so quickly and without spilling any blood.
We can now back to our previous business relations and treat each other with respect.

Violence Ominpotence Impromptu Destruction [VOID] declares war on Trident Arms Syndicate.
I really do not appreciate having to do this. I have many friends in TRI who I have done nice business deals with over the years and who I respect. So you can imagine I have no other choice today.
The reason for this declaration of war is a member of this guild who has resorted to drastic profanity on channel 100 many times. Today that profanity was directed at me and while I am usually one to take VO and the chatter with a grain of salt, I must say those were serious personal attacks. A horrid amount of aggresion and hate that you'd usually get from... not very educated people.
Of course I do not declare war over being a bit irritated with one weird person you harbor, but I have seen this member go at it various times. Good friends of mine have been insulted with drastic personal chat attacks and insults that really, really go too far.
The member in question is Ephsolon, currently having the status of a member in the guild [TRI].
This person has been offensive towards the members of my guild before. As a result, we had declared war on [ROCK] before, since they had the pleasure to have him in their guild. [ROCK] realized what kind of bad fish they recruited and demoted and kicked Ephsolon from their guild.
While the war with [ROCK] was more on a role playing basis back then, the insults and levels of personal attacks have gone up now. Of course I could have reported the user, but that will not do a lot. Instead, I would like to fix this with a role playing approach: By declaring war on you to show to the community that we do not tolerate personal attacks.
Another reason why I declare war publicy now is the odd reaction of Councilor and Lieutenant Xeha of [TRI] gave me. I declared war shortly after the latest happenings on channel 100, hoping this could be fixed quickly and harmless. Instead of seeing the need for action, Xeha said he was "really considering" to kick Ephsolon, but now that I had demanded it, he would not do it because he'd "play in my hands" then or something. I don't remember the exact saying. But for sure it was a weird reaction.
However, I would like to give [TRI] the chance to fix this issue with [VOID] and get back to the normal situation we were in before.
The terms for that are as follows:

Normally I'd make talk about demanding money and surrender and blabla. But this would not be appropriate now. All I want is this offender to be kicked to see that his behaviour is not welcome.
If you meet these conditions, the war will officially be over. Until then, I will have to attack and destroy every [TRI] pilot I stumble upon. And my guildmates will do the same.

i quietly observed the situation that led to this war declaration. ephsolon was asking in an insulting way if sieger was online. a few minutes later sieger was online on an alt, trading rp insults with the guy.
eventually ephsolon got really angry and said some awful things that just do not belong here. so this reaction is completely understandable. nice idea to wrap it into rp.
but keep in mind that it is not TRIs fault. they are very reasonable people. they probably just didn't know what kinda person they let into the guild.

Obviously, this is all very fascinating, and I would like to know what sort of insults Standartenfuhrer Sieger would consider to be "serious personal attacks," since he's usually so intent on discounting any criticism as coming from "insignificant persons," with low PK counts. So, of course, I went to CS's ethical website logged in with the usual 'vo_ro' username with the password 'readonly' and quite logically, ran a quick search for Ephsolon's name with the following query:

Here's the confusing part: The last time Ephsolon said anything on channel 100 was August 5th, and the most horrible things I could find him saying on 100 at all was calling yoda a faggot, and asking Blaqk to 'mentor me in the ways of the pirate :3.'
So... What the fuck?
Is CS under the thumb of the devs, and his chat log can be censored as part of the administrative action taken when someone commits the sin of saying naughty things, instead of just innocently inflating their PK count through killing their own alt repeatedly?
Has Herr Sieger misspoken, and the alleged harassment actually taken place in other channels?
Is Ephsolon actually Sieger on a separate account, which is no longer super-useful for killing repeatedly, but might still server to stir up some drama that will keep Sieger from becoming "insignificant"?
Will we ever know?

I was the one to invite Ephsolon to TRI after he left ROCK or got kicked or w/e. Seemed like a reasonable-enough dude to me at the time. In any case, I'll take responsibility for this moving forward.
Can you share with me what was said, Sieger? Our rules of conduct are strict, and if lines were crossed I will make it right (going over the top is MY job!!)

Xeha - Thank you for making clear you were just drunk and tired. It's good you want to help in solving the issue now. This solves the issue with Neon Black not having the logs since you got them. Now you guys can make a decision. Note that this is not the only time Ephsolon crosses the line. I've witnessed severeal such incidents.

These are weird and scary thing to say. Just because we don't want Sieger to be around doesn't mean that his sexual proclivities should keep him from playing games. Sure, growing a thicker skin is a good idea if you're a sensitive person trying to play online games, but that is a personal choice. If being constantly offended gets me off, I don't see why I should change the way in which I enjoy the game or risk "not belonging."

I'm not even talking about how humiliating and pathetic this sort of thing is. It just doesn't make sense from an economic standpoint. This is a video game where you have nothing to lose. All threats are, based on that alone, totally empty. You gave in to an empty threat. Why? Why would you ever do that?

You're missing the point, dearie. We shouldn't allow people with thin skins to keep others who like to throw around colorful words from playing. Honestly, I don't have any problem with what Sieger is doing here. People who say stupid things in chat should not be surprised when they end up repeatedly killed for it, and that goes for the people who support them as well. As for Sieger "destroying someone else's ability to enjoy VO", nope. All he was doing was shooting somebody and informing that guy's friends that he'll shoot them too as long as they're his friends. Somebody enacting a vendetta in Vendetta Online is the intended behavior, not "destroying someone else's ability to enjoy VO".
