After a long mind crazy thinking i made my choice to leave the Serco Defense Force (SDF). It has been fun fighting with you guys but I had enought with groups and will be alone again, and a solo fighter (with that mean I scout and dont do anything :P ). I will be deleting the SDF site I made, Black 1 you can talk to Archon if he wants to host it for you. The channel is droped, you can re-register it. I still will be a moderator for #vendettaweb and VendettaWeb.Net (That the only orgination or whatever you want to call it) My tag is already gone. My name is still Horgrathie (RED), and hope I see you guys while I go scouting.

*I wont be in 9, trust me...I got nice 72k bounty on my head*

Im sorry to see you go, and again, this places me in an awkwards position. My XO is resigned so...

Very well, your resignation is tenured...although, if you ever wish to return, I will of course jumpstart you right back into the loop at the rank of Admiral.

As usual, if you continue to fight for the Serco Dominion, you will still be viewed well with us. But if you defect to another nation, we cannot and will not give you an exception to the SDF Policies. I wish you well.

Sincerely,

[SDF] Black 1
CO, SDF

PS: As of 18:10 AST, Spellcast has been made the XO of the SDF. Pending his acceptance, AKA will assume TOTAL control of the SDF XO position.

PSS: Yes, the SDF in fact DOES have 2 XOs, they are a system of checks and balances for the brass. They together can override the CO, and can turn over each other and I them. It's all a very complex system.

Also, could I please get the HTML coding for that site? I would like to use it as a basis for another SDF site in the not so distant future (in Dev language, "soon").

Thank you,

Wow Pyroman you're a nut. Giving the SDF command to AKA (one of the biggest griefers/pirates in the game)?!? Does he stand for one single thing that you believe in? Ha, I'm going to just sit back and watch the Serco D(efbot defense) Force die a slow and agonizing death.
Mar 04, 2004 UncleDave link
I strongly advise you to give command to someone who has proven themself more responsible, or we may have to go over your head.
Mar 04, 2004 Durgia link
you gave AKA command??? Thats crazy. He is a skilled pilot but that does not make him a very good choice. But its ok with me.

/me watches the SDF ground into dust

As I understand Pyroman's post, he gave AKA the XO postion, that is executive officer, not the commanding officer. I don't see how this will be a problem with the SDF's checks and balances in place.

The problem with checks and balances is taht they don't work well in PvP games. Why? Because very rarely are any 3 people on at the same time...
Mar 05, 2004 Pyroman_Ace link
Actually, I gave AKA the poistion of XO only until Spellcast reports into me or AKA and assumes his role.

Also, AKA has been a semi-SDF since the SDF's Founding. He's not really flown for us nor spoken to us for quite some time (since before the Breakaway) but he's held XO for a LONG TIME.

Anyways, Spellcast should report in soon and recieve his command. And the system of checks and balances is for SDF POLICY and ROE and the like. Not nessicarily ingame, ingame I takl to my XO and make my descision based on that. If he objects strongly then I am likely to not do it.

For now though, since there is apparently a GREAT objection to AKA having XO powers, consider the poistion of XO Vacant. AKA will assume his Admiral position and I will remain CO for now. Sicne there is no XO I will have executive desicions halted on policy and ROE until XO position is filled again

I'm fine with A.K.A being in command, he fits in with the rest of the SDF really well.

With the possible exception of Spellcast.

/me wonders why this went off-topic

sorry it took so long for me to reply to this but we had the regular internet turned off a tad early. however no problems now since..

DSL IS FINALLY ONLINE YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY
OK, sorry about the offtopicness of that but i couldnt resist. :)

Black 1, I accept the position of XO. WE need to meet at somne point and talk about a few things, but WE'll get the SDF back on track as soon as possible (like when guilds are an actuall supported part of the game).

Horgathi, it's been good flying with you. We wish you well and hope you have a prosperous career.

Mar 05, 2004 Pyroman_Ace link
Spellcast, welcome to beign the XO of the SDF.

I agree we need to meet sometime, whether ingame, IRC or simply by emailing exchange about getting the SDF back onto the tracks. It seems to have at some point during my command, dereailed on the wrong side.

As for the dig about the SDF being pirates and griefers. I rarely see you out there working for the common good. At least the SDF makes an attempt at direct confrontation of greifers and aiding newbs. But, as I wise pilot once told me, "Let your actions speak rather than your words."

PS: The emphaisis on the "WE"s, I dont get it. Obviously I would be VERY interested in getting the SDF back on the right course.

And as another wise pilot also told you, appointing an idiot like AKA as your vice chief or whatever crap you made up is a very bad idea. Your second in command is one of the biggest pirates/griefers in the game yet you speak of how the SDF does so much good. Go back to hijacking other peoples threads and defending the DEFBOTs.
Mar 08, 2004 Pyroman_Ace link
seraphim, your stupidity appalls me...:P

No, AKA is NOT the SDF XO, AKA is 3rd in command and no offense to him, the 3rd in command is a more figurehead position. He basically says he's SDF but he never really SAYS he is nor does he fly on most SDF flights. AKA is pretty much a mercinary like pilot for the SDF. He comes when we're badly pinned down but other than that, he just does his own thing.

Last time I actually spoke to him ingame was several weeks if not 2-3 months by now.

And, seraphim. In all seriousness. The SDF does do good. Perhaps you yourself have never benefitted because you only see the buisness end of the SDF, the Guass Guns and Vulture Flights. Serco's who let us help (admittedly there aren't very many but we do help who we can) recieve the full aid package. An old, temporarily dormant system we had was we gave all newbs 1,500c to begin to bot with. 1.5k no strings attached. They joined the Serco Dominion and we helped them out. We didnt ask them for diddly.

The SDF also assisted in major caps such as the Serco Mass Cap when 5, yes 5 SDF pilots joined with another 5 non-SDF Sercos and litterally OVERWHELMED NT Defenses to perform one of the most brute force caps I've ever witnessed. The SDF then played a crucial role in getting that flag home, culminating in 2 SDFs playing warp hoppers to blast an NT pilot who was continually wasting the carrier. It was ultimately the "Hog Squad" who brought it home (4 Hogs, 3 other pilots were working over the NT still, and I beleive 3 others died and were forced to abort the cap.

So, seraphim, we in the SDF do OUR jobs. The remaining question is who DOESN'T. Per capita, the SDF does the most C.A.P.s (Combat Air Patrols) around s13, s5, s12, and s2. We also, per capita are the leading guild in hours spent on patrol and hours spent escorting traders (yes, SDF Control Logs all of this in charts. +/- .4345 hours (very complex math thingy my calculator does, I dont get it. says "Figure Error Range" then shows that))

Brute force ain't tactics, brute force is doing something with an unneeded amount of force that can be done with less force if skill is used.
Mar 09, 2004 genka link
Ahh, yes, brute force during caps...
If you haven't seen gold cap back when there were more of them you ain't seen nothing...

Edited, because retrospect made me.
