reasons for the UIT to help the Itani

The Serco have won most of the CtC, by an embarrasingly large margin. The Itani have become dejected and have lost morale.

Who cares about the Itani? Well, in case you haven't noticed, the Serco are knocking on our west doorstep. Serco like Yoda want to take over every sector in the galaxy and put a Serco station in it. Sure, there are more moderate Serco. But they aren't in control of the Serco government. And if the Serco take over, it's not going to be as benevolent dictators (if any of you believe in such a thing in the first place). The rabid faction of the Serco think we are subhuman 'roid farmers' and use us for target practice. They will probably 'cleanse' us from our home territories or enslave us.

Sure the Itani might take us over too. Lord knows there are many hostile Itani, like Shape, Borb, etc, who kill us. But there are many moderate Itani. And right now, if the Itani just die out and cease to exist, we are toast. With the new Serco frigate we are even more toast. We don't have any special ships or weapons on the horizon.

One thing we can do is to balance out the field and make sure the Itani don't become obliterated. Until we are strong enough to hold off the Serco on our own, we can do this, and ensure our survival.

------

Now as to why the Itani lose ctc? Many of the Itani have basically just given up. They don't even bother to come. Thus, dozens of Serco transports pass from Sedina to Pyronis unattacked. The Itani have lost their morale. If we the UIT just show up and start blasting things, and win a few, that alone will improve their morale significantly.

Second of all, if you look at the past CtC statistics, a few strong Serco deliver a huge chunk of their cargo. In effect, about 9 or 10 key Serco are the reason they win. These are Lin, Phoenix, Spellcast, Ruby, Spider, Anevitt, Amarus, Space Hunter, the UIT Mr Spuck, and a few others.

We, the UIT, can if nothing else, just show up and shoot at these key people. We don't even need any skill. All we have to do is distract these super-players by attacking them. They will have to take their eyes off the transport for, say, 15 or 20 seconds. That is enough for even a less experienced Itani to blast it and grab the cargo.

This makes use of the one advantage we do have: more people. We don't have to have more experienced people, we just have to throw numbers in the right places. And with each suicide wave we throw at them, our pilots will gain experience in combat, and we will be on our way to having our own crew of experienced people who can stave off the Serco's Magnificent Seven, as well as the rogue Itani who think they are Corvus.

-----

Now, when we do this fight, we can be careful. We don't need to alienate all the Serco. If we fight honorably the moderate Serco will want to make peace eventually. However, if we fight dishonorably, like killing unarmed Serco miners at the stations, then the moderate Serco will be drowned out in their own government. Then there will never be peace. We can win, and we can win by the rules. We aren't to any point of cave man regression yet.

---

So, to all UIT who value existence, what do you say we help out the Itani for a few weeks until CtC is more evened out. They may be blue and funny looking, but they give us a chance for survival.

Yeah he's not. I am :P

Well I am. And by the way I am an Ex-Serco. :p

I am annoyed that I don't get on the psychotic list.

Anyway, I agree with ananzi that the UIT should just blast the hell out of the SAFs, except I disagree that the UIT should shoot mr_spuck.

Because mr_spuck is cute and cuddly, and I like mr_spuck =P.

ok shape i edited it

as for mr spuck, in good form he has delivered 300 cargos in a week. that is as much as the whole surplus. sorry but he does not get a pass simply because he is cute and cuddly. that wouldnt be fair to the cute and cuddly sercos.

Sercos discontinued the cute and cuddly upgrade patch eons ago, due to lack of interest. I doubt there are any Serco pilots who fall into this category, and if so, they are very old and in need of an upgrade.

At least, that's the rumour on the street these days

So I got this fuzzy chest hair implant for nothing? :'(

And I think spuck is cool too, but I still shoot him. CtC is war, in war there are only ever two kinds of people those who are on your side, and those who are dead.

If its any consolation Shape and I shoot at both sides of the ctc war.

[EDIT] oh yeah, spuck does pwn btw, shoot him and be hunted.

we all know that if you and shape had your way, you would not have any nation.

I still hold grudges against Itani from the whole pre-release INM debacle. The game is called Vendetta after all. Brutish they may be but least you know where you stand with Serco...

Old Serco proverb:

Its better to die facing the gun of a known enemy than to be shot in the back by a 'friend'

:)

is that more or less your views on it hoax? :)

I dont wanna destroy/conquer/maim the UIT, as they are all Serco anyways, who just are in denial. I deeply offended by that remark ananzi, I dont use UIT for target practice if they pay me, or have helped a fellow Serco in CTC, plus my cute and cuddly implant is working just fine, and is in no need of upgrade. =D

Yoda, I've seen your picture. You're not cute & cuddly.

thats funny spellcast, because you know, a lot of serco are on 100 saying 'ctc is lost' and 'we are tired of fighting' and 'we gave up because we are sick of the whining on the boards'.

and yet, they have closed the itani lead by 100 crates in the past few hours. and they continue to kill ctcers. or anyone even remotely involved in CTC at the sedina wormhole, even if they are passing through.

i even had one serco tell me that it was 'against the rules' to name their name on this thread. as though their ctc record is not public knowledge on the web page.

---

could it be that the serco are using backhanded psychological warfare? could it be that they are in fact not as 'honest straightforward' fighters as you claim?

maybe all people are the same and they all use the same tactics.

and by the way, the serco still have a chance to win, and they may do it, if itani keep 'giving up' because they think they won 10 meters from the finish line.

what does that have to do with preferring the company of someone who you know is gonna attack you because there are no surprises ananzi?
Feb 05, 2005 ananzi link
there are plenty of surprises.

i just saw one of your 'noble' SAF people face to face with a UIT at station.

as i was reminded a few days back, standing face to face with someone and not firing is a general sign of 'dont shoot' in this game. especially at a station. especially when there is no CTC going on. especially at a station that has nothing to do with ctc and is not on the route.

he, unlike me, has no excuse of ignorance, because he has been playing this game for ages.

the 'noble' SAF sat there for a while.

then killed the UIT and flew off.

----

other SAF do not do this. other SAF would find it rather ugly behavior.

----

you really never do know who is going to kill you. there is no difference in that regard between anyone or any group. anyone can kill you at any time.
Feb 06, 2005 Shapenaji link
hmm, maybe I AM psychotic, I've done that.

Once again, your comment has no bearing to mine.
I idea stated is that some people prefer to be in the company of someone they know is going to attack them, because then they dont get shot in the back by a supposed friend.

If you allready expect someone is gonna attack you, you arent surprised when they do.

on a side note:
I dont remember ever saying the SAF was noble, i dont remember anyone saying that, but anyhow.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, The SAF does not enforce a lot of rules on the behavior of its members. We were organized to coordinate CtC (our group just got larger than 8 people)
We admit players who are interested in CtC and willing to work as a group, and who can work well with the group we have. Some of our members are outright pirates and Pk'ers. Some of our members are pretty nice people, (Lin, Relayer, Ruby, Mr_ Spuck) Some of us (myself) walk a more middle ground. I try not to attack people at random, and attempt to be helpful, but i'm not the nicest person in the game, and i dont claim to be.
